They are mostly unloved.
I have a rather resplendent Mercedes 190E now.
A review of that, lol?

Waiting for the halo effect to subside.
Lol!!! Fair enough! We need more pics of it too!
35mpg never looked so sexy.
Lol! What's it like inside?
A twenty two year old "old mans" car who used to have a little dog.
Base spec' 1.8, cloth trim, basic sliding sunroof, electric windows up front, central locking; bits of real wood on the dash and a Blaupunkt tape deck. :slayer:
Hardly any electrical stuff to go wrong, no heavy dead cow seats, and only two speakers top rip out.
I'm planning a 2.3 Kompressor swap.
I like those Mercs. The last of the 'quality' Mercs.
Sadly the C Class that followed have all rusted now along with the E Class that followed shortly after.
Late 90's Mercs are some of the most rusty cars on the roads now, mind you it's not uncommon to see 4 or 5 year old rusty sprinters on the roads neither.
C and E Class Mercs are quite popular for banger racing these days.
Doesn't surprise me! I loved the look of the late 90's E estate - however they are full of rust.
Merc really let quality slip back then. I don't know how the newer products are but I don't like the look of the new C
That stuff?
Proper power steering that feels spot on, Bosch ABS that sort of works but I haven't needed to test it properly as yet, a very trick diff' that locks if one wheel spins (accidental drifter on a wet roundabout), drivers airbag and a five speed box with a long top gear so I can sit at 70mph ticking over at 2000rpm.
Built not put together and designed not compromised like modern Merc's.
Genuinely surprised!
Genuinely surprised!
It is an L plate so one of the last hence the extra kit.
The early ones had nothing and I mean nothing!
Expensive to.
£325
:bang:
New discs and pads all round for £56 +p&p
£325 to buy, lol?
