Bit of a strange one this but something that's been bugging for a while.

Have you ever had to justify not scrapping/selling a car you don't use everyday?

My faithful old Punto has been off the road for quite some time but i honestly have every intention of getting it up and running real soon however I am constantly being nagged to get rid of it!!! its not costing me any money and besides what realistically would it fetch, we all know second hand Fiats wont make you a millionaire! and besides it gives me a hobby and keeps out of the boozer!

Anyone else had to justify there motoring pass times to the other half's, mother in laws or fathers that constantly tell you to buy a real car?:bang:

If you have
Space somewhere
Time to do it
Money to spend on it
SWMBO dont mind

Then keep it

I'd love to buy a car that needs work to sell on
But i have none of the above

I've not had to justify it, but mums friends and visitors have sometimes asked why she and my father allow me to have a car collection and her response is normaly 'he doesn't smoke, doesn't do drugs and doesn't go out clubbing every weekend drinking his money away, so we're happy that he's doing something he enjoys which isn't harmful to himself or others'.

I have to justify my landrover defender on a very regular basis... most people stop nagging when they find out I have a trailer and can pick up / drop washing machines help them move house etc... Bring on the snow the negative people won't be getting a lift to Asda so they can panic buy the bread and milk
