It depends on the reasons, my mother inlaw has had bilateral hip replacements and RA she has a blue badge.

she would have difficulty walking long distances with out pain, that gets you a blue badge,
All we know about the woman in this thread is she needs more room to open her door, that in its self don't qualify her for a badge.

What she doesn't do is go around telling every random stranger in car parks her complete medical history.

On the other hand the woman in this thread might be one of those people who decided one day she had a mobility problem but never applied for a badge, or she may have had a twisted ankle and just decided she needed more room.
Then again she could be like the woman mentioned in your links have been dying of breast cancer and needed more room for bone mets which can happen quickly so not had time to apply for the badge.

My point is you don't know and neither do I and if someone NEEDS a badge they will get one

op states
they claimed they where disabled (citroen) and need extra width to get in the car
is a bit selfish yet you have your own spaces and i noticed lack of badge on display,
being disabled and needing extra width to park does not qualify people to get a blue badge there are many disabilities that don't entitle anyone to a badge, i know a guy with a below knee amputation and he cant even get one because he can play football walk and run, but he finds it hard to squeeze into the car if he cant open door fully.

needing extra room to open a door isn't a disability, but as I already pointed out, who goes around telling everyone in a carpark their extensive medical history.

we don't know what was wrong with the woman or why she needed extra room, should could just have easily been a pain in the arse who just decided in that moment, to be difficult and decided she 'needed extra room'

You are basically contradicting yourself with that statement, suggesting he should have one because he needs extra room, the only difference here is you know his reason why he wants a blue badge he has a genuine disability however its very hard to argue the need for a blue badge when he can run and play football, which is more than I can do. but I don't get a blue badge,

its not a contradiction at all, you need to re read every thing i reckon, needing extra room to get in a car is a disability but its not a blue badge qualifying disability. its a disability because if they room isnt there the person does not have the ability get into their car.

Again you've comepletely miss the point and it's just getting silly.

I need extra room to get in and out of cars, I strongly suspect if I was to apply for a blue badge I would get one however I don't feel I need one and would rather those who really have a need for a space get those badges....

What I'm not about to do is give you a blow by blow account of my medical history so although I may need 'extra room' to get in and out of a car, that is all I am going to say.

Disability or no disability it doesn't matter to you as all the information you have is all I have told you 'I need more space' but from that you can apparently decide whether or not, in the case of the women in the post, if she is entitled to a blue badge or not, which of course you can't!

There are a number of reasons you may need more room I could 7'5" tall or 25 stone neither I would call 'disabilities' I could be missing a leg but again in the case of the story you told that man it could be argued was not 'disabled' as he was perfectly able to play football and go running.

Shall we just drop this now and let it go back to a post about parking rather dave's interpretation of disability

well back on topic, well ish ever noticed how some people 2dont have time to slow down for a marked crossing etc?, zebra crossing into car park i walk past one way home since car iss naffed atm,i was halfway across someone sped acorss yet to my right least 2 cars where waiting for me to get across, again seeing too many ipod headphones or phones in hands in traffic, angers me that people think its acceptable :/
