help please with bad company

recently we bought a tv off a company, and paid extra for quick delivery, when the tv came the packaging was badly damaged and split. so we sent the tv back within 7 days for a full refund. the company now want to send out another tv, but we want a full refund as we have lost all confidence in the company. the only other option we have been given is a refund apart from the £20 quick delivery, and the £20 to pick the tv up from us. we feel that this not right, as the damage was done either by the company or the courier, and not by us. what are our rights regarding this.

Many thanks in advance.

Write a letter to head office, or possibly try Trading Standards?

I reckon you are entitled to your money back if you want.

How did you pay for it?

Most banks/credit cards have a free legal advice line - why not use it?

Yep credit card companies have a amazing amount of 'pulling power' on their side.I always use a credit card to buy things.....well not milk & bread etc

Is there any agreement of terms on the TV you got? I think it is right you dont get the £20 back as it is a service you requested.

As Steve said.....Name & shame,i'll go first shall I?

Matalan,British telecom,Singlepoint,SkyTV,B&Q...to name a few

Fcuk lads, we could be here a while with the name and shame!

I think all companies have crap times so nearly everyone has some bad experiences to tell.

Chris, I'd say from your story that you kept the TV before arranging collection so you could have rejected it before signing then you could recoup one of the charges but not both.

Liam

Re: help please with bad company

Is there not a 'law' that states if you contact the seller & request collection they have to do this within 28 days or the goods are yours to keep...free,or something to that effect as I knew folk who done this to catalogue companies! ???
