so are you leaving it there as a token of times past, or are you freeing up more space on the screen to look through?

I've always kept all the old tax discs, I don't really know why? It may be down to people with classic cars who tell stories of old cars like " it even had the original supplying dealer sticker on the back window and every tax disc since new"

Anyway, I'll be removing mine and sticking it the service wallet. :)

Nah, I'm going to keep mine on indefinitely, on the basis that.....

It's not like it was in my day. (Slipping almost seamlessly into sad old git mode) You knew where you were with a tax disc, none of them new fangled computer thingys. In my day you used to look forward to spending hours in the post office. It were a day aht tha knorrs. Tha could get t'wife t pack some lunch. Yer knorr, sandwiches n Jacobs Club biscuits n sum fizzie pop. It were more fun than all pilin on t' charabanc n goin' t' Blackpool. Yer'd meet folks tha 'adn't seen in years, in fact Ah thought 'alf of 'em were dead, ee, just goes to shore

Ee, them were t' good old days........

It doesn't seem right - throwing something away that cost a lot of money! What if the DVLA computer system crashes and they don't know who's taxed their car and who hasn't?
O'h yeah. That happened already today didn't it?
Won't this make it easier for car cloners to dodge tax, insurance, speeding fines, Crimewatch etc.?

I wouldn't care, but I spent £15 on a fancy tax disc holder about seven months ago oblivious to them being scrapped - feels wrong binning it, but won't be able to sell it, so it may be a life spent gathering dust in the garage in store for it (in between the fifteen-year-old paint tins, VHS tapes and the battery charger that was built west of the Berlin Wall)

As the tax disc holder is from the dealership, then I can't wait to get home and take the holder and disc out of the window.

Another bit less of dealer advertising gone.

Same as mine, I took the Hodgson H in a pentagon symbol out at the same time and the rear window sticker so only window clutter is work parking pass.

Took mine off, wind screen now looks 'weird' with a gap under my residential parking, which I cannot move - if i take it off the windscreen it wont stick back on :(

Took mine off last weekend. Pain in the backside job to do as I had one of those really stuck on magnetic rings. Ended up scraping off bits of the holder with a Stanley Knife blade followed up my glass polish to remove the last traces.
