grow up and stop been argumentative for the sake of it,

you are off your head, you posted to do exactly that with you 1st post in the thread and not the first time either, if you are going to post to **** someone off don't be surprised when they get pissed off, all i did was post a half price offer to help anyone out who wanted it:rolleyes:

if a normal member had done what you did to one of the mods or the in crowd and tried to cover it up after with excuses like yours they would have had half the mods bulling them by now trying to bait them for a ban.

my mate has a car like yours and its crap, should i go to your members motors thread and list all the cars that are better than it?

Dave, for god sake grow up!

Monty is saying is: don't buy crap.
What you're saying: these are cheap, so buy them.

They're not all the same..........

If you want to do that then feel free. I like discussing cars and I strongly suspect there are better cars out there than Andy's car.

I'm not your biggest fan Dave, but you are being even more clottish than usual, you posted a link to some PPE, Andy happens to feel that said PPE will be ineffectual and give people a false sense of security and perhaps even damage their hearing more than a decent set of ear protectors.

I've got ACS moudled sleeves for my headphones.

Took a little while to get used to them, but now I'm happy they are a good fit and comfortable enough, I'm going to get some made for sleeping :)

If you had it done recently they should still have the earmoulds on file and be able to do plugs slightly cheaper because you won't need to have an impression done :)

ah here they all come
does they title say best in the world? does it say you have to buy them?
if they are so bad then best tell screwfix to stop selling them.

when you are a grown up you will realise that monty has the option of adding to a post with out belittling the efforts of some one who was just posting a helpful link to anyone who may have been looking for cheap defenders.

there will always be better things for more money, this thread was to help them who don't have that money or need for ultimate protection.
One example i have already given, children with a certain type of autism who can be upset by noises that are quite normal to you and I, like the dryers in a public toilet or a house hold hammer drill. They don't need £50 worth of protection to make life more comfortable!
just because they are no good for what monty uses his for does not make them crap for every other use:rolleyes:

As someone who also worked for Mencap (god I've worked at a lot of different places.....) a child with the sort of Autism that is set off by sound will smash these in no time.

£50 worth of protection where did you pluck that figure from some strange day dream? ... The £3ish quids worth for 20 pairs of plugs was my other option for those on a budget and those who would use them a couple of times a year would last them 10 years if they chucked them away after use, which will offer way more protection than those ear defender's

Remember that most tools quote the LWA at 1m get laid under a car on a driveway factor in the reflection, proximity and resonance of the tool and what ever your cutting drilling or grinding suddenly becomes much louder

As for children there are specific products available taylored to their physical size / required spring tension and antenuation for much less than this magic £50 you seem to have stuck in your head.... ever seen these?
Peltor Kids Ear Muffs Headband - Neon Green:Amazon.co.uk:DIY & Tools

You can even get them in pink

As much as I would love to put a link to a recent review of the peltor kids defenders up that I read I know you will only complain and accuse me of trying to upset you due to the countryside theme of the publication they were reviewed in. I won't drop to that level and give you any more ammunition against me but they came up equal to many adult defenders in terms of protection intended for similar applications
