help please, as my sis wants a clio.

Hi all, my sister is selling her micra soon, and she wants a small car with power steering as the replacement, but she is thinking of getting a renault clio off a local garage. its a 1999 V 1.2 RN, fsh, 64000 miles and £1795. as she will be looking at this website soon, please can you say how wonderful fiats are, as i want her to get a seicento sporting that i have seen. the sei is a 2000 W, gun metal grey, 42000 miles, fsh, and it the same price as the clio.

Micras are too slow, so are older 8v Clios. They have no character, everyone else has them and grannies drive them. Nuff said!

Re: help please, as my sis wants a clio.

Having seen the 1.2 8v Clio move (not very fast) I have to say a Sei is a serious competitor.

Re: help please, as my sis wants a clio.

On the point of the clio, V reg is still quite an old new model so no idea if they still had problems involved that weren't sorted out. The 1.2 8v (despite being 100cc smaller than the punto) will perform aswell as the punto 1.2 8v but no better - the 16v is a tonnes better engine and quite the norm for the clio.

The RN is a basic spec for the "new style" clio.

Helz, as I said on MSN, not in terms of speed.

Re: help please, as my sis wants a clio.

In terms of speed I think they are pretty evenly matched from my experience only. I have done quite a few convoy's in my cinq against my mates 1.2 8v clio and they are very equally matched.

Both of the car's are girly, so I say let her choose which ever one she is more comfortable with. At the end of the day, you don't want to be held responsible if your sis doesn't like the sei and she blames you for persauding her.

Re: help please, as my sis wants a clio.

That punto looks good but from the figures given it sounded like she wanted to spend a little more?

It's also a good point that you should avoid persuading her one way too much incase it turns out to be a bad decision....then you get the blame lol.

And Joe, sort out your sig man

Re: help please, as my sis wants a clio.

lol Dave...firstly, i don't think the clio in question is 16v, I doubt it is, secondly, last week it was a girls car (which would be great in this case) but this week it's a chavs car?! Make up your mind

I have seen chavs drive puntos too, sadly their value for money helps that.
