Thousands of Ypsilons on the UK road and quite a few owners have been here as the running gear and engines are Fiat.

A lot of hire companies use them, I hired out one of 2 occasions at Luton airport.

Oh hell, this means I have to admit we have a Chrysler Neon !

Well I guess someone has to have one - still we are going in for therapy shortly :D

Yes we have 2 litres of Yank muscle that fails dismally to threaten rice pudding skins !!

Behold our magnificent, alright mundane Neon

they must all be sarf of luton then because ive only seen 2 in the last 12 months and they was both horrible lookers in white
try finding parts outside of dealers and i drew a blank in the country,i only wanted a rear door too ,nothing fancy
personally i liked the italion version of the ypsilion but not this version

i think he just meant the ones that were not worthy of a lancia badge. but then again he says 300c :chin::confused:

but now you have started it i had a few chrysler alpine's bargains by the time they came in to my price bracket.

They are everywhere (north of Luton!) I see loads every day.....you have to look for them but they are there.

I remember changing a few immobiliser modules on them, the top half of the dash pulls up from memory to reveal the module.

Thankfully the immobilizer is well behaved (touches wood) however it does have a few traits :bang:

You cannot pull away with a delicate foot, you have to blip the throttle then balance it else it stalls - not bad on an auto ! :bang: It also chugs a bit up to just over 65 mph - fussy little sod.

The right hand passenger door is only many locked, the others are centrally locked as designed :bang:

And then there's the horn ho hum - I had to pull the relay after the damn thing went off whilst we were out - and before anyone says anything it is nought to do with the alarm, I set that off getting into her to pop the bonnet !

And it's final little gem - it's dearer to run than the Jag

Cars, don't you just love em ? !

i seem to have a vivid memory of changing a gearbox with out having to remove bell housing, did it really happen or did i dream it?

never bought one needing a clutch or box
they all crunched into second and the magic stick that connected them made most punters run a mile at the block but once cleaned up and advertised they were a lot of car for little money and sold well
very economical too but all those idiot lights on the bottom of the speedo were a pain as they often winked at you at an in opper tune moment;)

At least two of the hire companies at Manchester Airport have them on their fleets. I think they are Sixt and Europcar.

Personally I'd just use the Jag :p :nerner:

The Neon is SWMBO's car, but she doesn't drive it, so I have to to avoid it sulking - and now we have moved that means once a week for each car and the odd short shopping trip where a bike won't do.

Also the Jag has the dreaded DPF gubbins, so not keen on giving it short journeys !
