Due to the weather being so nice I've switched to my Summer diet early. The "G-plan" diet so instead of Jack Daniels and Dr Pepper I'm on Guinness followed by Grouse and Ginger.
This somewhat premature change meant I had to finish the Jack Daniels off. Half a bottle and a few days later I get a text message from eBay.

"Congratulations you have won a listing you had bid on".

Bid on?

Won?

What have I bought now?

That will probably be the best drunkard £150 you'll spend

You can happily and easily strip it down for parts and make alot more money on it, then get rid of the shell as well!!

Bargain!
Best get your spanners out

Hell - whip sump off, check the bottom end for been "loose" and replace its shells and see how it goes? :D

Non-GM V6's are a silly money these days so replacing the shells could be straight forward.

I've had a look at how much 147's are selling for and even if I have to buy an engine it's a lotto win. ;)

£150 for the car
£50 tow home + chips
£25 big end bearings or...
£150 for an engine.
£40 MOT

Sale value £450 - £1,100

;)

I was quite optimistic as I recognised the noise the engine made when I got it home and put a battery on it.

The timing belt adjust had slipped off and was rattling. Pain in the cheeks to get to and one reassembled I starter the car up and she purred like a kitten...

...for about ten seconds...

...and it slipped off again.

Hmmmmm....

Took it apart and reassembled it again only this time when the car started I watched to see what happened.

The inlet cam' pulley was wobbling a fair bit and the tensioner was moving so much to compensate it worked loose again.

So what bent the cam'?

The temperature gauge was at 90'C but the radiator pipes were cold. Water pump failure?

I took the pump off and it came off in half a dozen pieces.

So the engine needs a new head, water pump, belts; sod it engine. The problem now is whilst I was crawling about I notice the rear subframe was swizz cheese, the floor near the front subframe mounts was dented, stripped of any paint and rusty (jacking or off road action?); also where the car has been stood the brake will need overhauling, the clutch has about 5,000 miles left and to get the car back on the road or track will cost more than I can afford.

So....

The tyres are all good and would fit a Fiat Coupe'. ;)

I'm over the idea of leather for my Punto. I do have the Doblo though. Hmmm.....
