Aldi and lidl

Not Aldi or Lidl, however, Tesco at the moment have big discounts on Castrol magnatec stop-start, both 5w-30 and 10w-40 they also have half price redex injector cleaner, DPF cleaner and tyre repair foam.

The oil in particular is considerably cheaper than anyone else, £9 for 2 litres.

I recently bought a Lidl battery angle grinder. I'm 99% sure the Aldi version is exactly the same in a different colour. Tempted by the sabre saw. Do I need one? Of course (not).

I've been toying about buying one as well, simply for those occasions where cables get in the way, or you require yards of extension. How do you rate it?

My last angle grinder was a not cheap Makita (sick of cheap rubbish packing up). The spindle lock fell apart and jammed the gears so that's yet another one done with.

The Lidl/Aldi battery grinder is handy but the 2AH battery is only just adequate. A slitting disc or polishing mop (even Scotchbrite pads) need the oomph of the 4AH battery. It has an internal overload so switch "off-n-on" and all is fine.

You would need proper mains job for serious work.

Aye, I've a faithful Bosch mains grinder I've had for years for the bigger jobs. I've ordered the grinder online & a 5ah battery, so I should be covered for all events....:D

Sigh! wait 'till the wife finds out.....

Aldi have listed Apron's in their valentines gifts, guys do not fall for this its some sort of trick by a man hating woman in aldi marketing maybe. if you buy one you will be in the dog house and you wont get no sexy time for months.

If you buy one - you fail.

If you dont buy one - you fail.

Get used to it.

I got suckered again. Just found a Parkside battery sabre saw / sawzall for £30.

It shoots though 3mm alloy sheet and does a neat job. Far less messy than the grinder with slitting disc. The downside is trigger speed control that's not sensitive enough.

Its not bad kit for DIY use or even treat as disposable.

Draper do a range called D20, brushless and very sturdy. A company called FFx based in Folkestone ( I think) but also sell on eBay as well often have bare units on great sales, I’ve got a fast charger x3 5amp/h batteries, and various bodies. If you have an old version of something I generally use that, what I should do is use the best one but then some how that defeats the what if this doesn’t work options. Any way I’m not saying that park side etc aren’t good but when it wouldn’t entertain a strut nut that was probably original( 15years) my D20 version virtually ripped it off the damper, they are really not expensive and good tools are second to none

Aldi motoring section has some eye wear that's so popular it's sold out.
