Hi all,

My mother in law completed and sent off her passport application last weekend (18/05) and as it will be her first passport I am led to believe she will need to have an interview.

I was wondering if anyone knew roughly how long she could expect to wait for an interview and following this her passport?

Myself and her daughter are getting married in Cyprus the beginning of August and as you can imagine there are a few nerves whether or not the passport will be received in time.

Any help or personal experience you can offer would be apreciated

ps. Don't ask why the passport wasn't applied for sooner :bang:

2 months i wouldn't have thought our government was that incompetent

I'd have thought you'd be fine.

I've just renewed my passport - admittedly a completely straightforward transaction - & got mine back within 10 days of posting the application 2nd class using the standard service.

It's the fastest renewal I've ever had, so I'd say the Identity & Passport Service is working pretty well just now.

I did my first passport 4-5 years ago and needed interview.

It was all done and dusted in 4-5 weeks.

I got my passport late when i was 24 so I think because I was older I needed to go for an interview. I could not answer a couple of the questions properly, like how long have my parents been married. They where married long before I was born, I didnt go the the wedding I did get the passport.
