im going to get an ipad mini. i just cant decide whether to get the 32gb or pay a bit extra for the 64gb.

Basically, i have a lot of clubcard vouchers (the joys of owning 2 cars that need fuel) so can get them for a good price. the price diff will be about £60 between the two.

planning to use it for music, videos, books and a few apps.

whats making me think 64gb is i have a 16gb iphone that is almost full and it doesnt have on it!

what should i go for?

your probably only going to regret not getting the 64gb one in the end if you get the 32gb.........like i did getting a cheaper android tablet instead of an ipad because it poop:(

you're probably the first none apple tablet user i have come accross to say that!

everyone keeps banging on about samsung and android. as a brand, i dont like samsung, anything i have owned made by them, or had parts made by them, has failed.

i have set up and sorted out android tablets and found them very glitchy, and, be able to be buggered easily.

we've got both 32 and 64GB iPads (one each) mine is the 32Gb and to be honest i've never filled the memory, but i don't use it for music, I do have a couple of films and a couple of TV series as well as a huge number of apps.

my other half has the 64Gb which she has managed to fill in the past because she loves movies and music and fills it with both.

my point being its very hard to say whats best without knowing how you're going to really use it but if you can afford the bigger capacity then go for it better to have space to spare than to not have enough.

What is the actual point of the ipad mini?
I suppose is a matter of opinion but my galaxy note performs better and guess what? Is a phone too! Expandable memory and more freedom of apps unlike apple products
There is better all round tablets out there like samsung tab, blackberry and the motorola xoom just to name few...

there are free apps on apple app store too! at least you didnt say the one thing that gripes me more than anything that most android users say - "you cant get free music on iphones and ipads etc", when you can.

i've used both apple and android, i prefer apple and ios.

Well like i said is a matter of opinion...
I prefer android and i just cant get my head round of the non expandable memory bit on apple products and i dont see the point of ipad mini...
Is a bit like a bmw really...you are paying for the badge;)

A side from an android versus apple argument which I'm sure will ensue soon enough sometimes its nice to have separate devices for different uses.

Example I have an MP3 player for playing music in the car, or on the train means I never run the battery down on my phone...

I have a TomTom satnav means I don't run the battery out on my phone (though I do use the phone for satnav if I have to)

The iPad mini is that handy kindle size, good for books and watching movies on the go, (i'm sure there are android alternatives) gives a better screen size than the phone/tablet hybrids. And retains its real purpose of being a tablet. You can still message and FaceTime if needed. But its really not meant to be a phone or do phone things.

The iPad mini was born out of a need to copy smaller android devices which were popular but many people wanted an apple alternative.

Depends upon your uses like others have said, and also how long you plan on keeping it? If forever then get the bigger one, otherwise again like others have said you'll constantly regret it, if like some though you'll upgrade within the next 2 years then you'll only potentially have 2 years of regrets.

When I purchased my iPad 2 I was originally going to get a 16gb 3G. Then found out about 3G tariffs and that I could actually tether to my phone, so dropped the 3G option, saving £100, so spent the extra to get the 32gb. At times I wish I'd gone for the 64gb as I like having plenty of memory as I am one who likes having my whole music library (or nearly all) with me. Although I don't tend to use my iPad for music much tbh.

Written from my iPad 2 32gb with 5.1gb free.

Ironically this is exactly what I did, in some respects it would have been nice to have 3G but then I always seem to find somewhere with free wifi or just personal hotspot with my iPhone
