Today I saw a punto, with a funny looking front, anyway as he pulled into the shell garage as he turned left the left fog light lit up, then he turned right to straighten up and the other lit up?
I thought I saw something like it a few days ago but just assumed I was imaging it

What kind of sorcery is this?

As you say it is a turning light to light up the corner in the dark more than anything but will work in the day

A lot of newer cars have it on now

Oh ... I thought it was something special

Go on admit it you though the Itallian electrical gremlins were hard at work

I have them on my evo...

Totally pointless in town but get onto some bendy back roads ;)

*(speed needs to be under about 25mph)* and wheel turned just over 1/2 a turn from straight and they come on (( along with <25mph with the repective indicator on)) which either confuses the moron to pull out on you thinking you have flashed them out... Or makes you far more visible when turning right if your close to oncoming traffic at night

The one I saw must have been a regular punto, the front was all squashed :yuck:
He wasn't indicating though, just turning...

They look cool, maybe I should refit my fog lights and wire them into the indicators :p
This reminds me of a time when I was driving behind a volvo where under braking the reverse light came on and every 20 seconds or so one indicators would light up solid then alternate with the other side

I think I posted a topic on this in the Bravo section when I had one...how can it be against road rules to have both fog lights on when not foggy, but it's all fine and dandy when you're turning to have one on

It depends on the lamp design. Wiring up a regular fog light is a no no. Cornering lights usually have a reflector fitted to spread the light to the side and to keep it from dazzling oncoming traffic.

Type approval ;)
Cento186 I've got them on my Bravo :D

Only one regular junction I use though where they are handy, But then again I've HID headlamps, so they're better than none HID headlamps at lighting the road up anyway :)

i keep getting flashed every know and then because i look like some tool with my fogs on with a bulb blown..............little do they know my car is far more superior to theirs :p

I had one bloke going nuts at a roundabout banging the side of his car head out the window flashing his rear fog........

So i canceled the indicator and rocked the wheel left and right.... Swiftly followed by killing the head lights...... And going from fogs to drl several time ;) (just mash the front fog button with the drl on and other lights off and see what happens :D )

He strangely pulled over and waved me past......

Discovered the strangest thing this evening.

Playing with my mates Seat (ibiza or leon, which ever is the smaller one, which is the Ibiza iirc) which has cornering lights like the Fiats which use the fogs, and with his, if his headlights are on and he goes into reverse the front fogs come on (as the pair) and then when he comes out of reverse they go off. Not sure if it's to help with parallel parking

Was a very strange setup.

Its a special safety warning, it says: "I'm a Seat owner, and I'm reversing - keep well away!"
