That's hilarious, there is a huge lorry in the way of where I want to be I will just keep driving in to it till it moves.

Lorry driver could have stopped and let the bully in but then they are on a motorway and the car shouldn't have been trying to force his way in anyway, if in doubt carry on to the next junction and double back.

I imagine the lorry driver may get a bollocking but doubt see any repercussions from the police, the car driver however may face a dangerous driving conviction for trying to bully his way through. Plus the pair of them need a slap for blocking a busy junction just because neither would give way

The biggest down side for the driver of the car is his insurance co might refuse to payout having seen the footage as it's essentially deliberate damage

If he had the caravan insured as well - i dowt they'll payout for that too!!
As again, it was negligent driving

Ziggy

Any accident through driver error is negligence on the drivers part, that's what insurance covers you for. If they didn't cover negligence they wouldn't pay out 99% of motor claims. On that basis they won't refuse the claim.

In this case though can he claim negligence when his is seen to literally ram a lorry in the lane he wanted to be in? Its certainly not a case of "whoops I didn't see you there ?

I agree - its negligence

Not negligent, deliberate.

Negligence (Lat. negligentia, from neglegere, to neglect, literally "not to pick up something") is a failure to exercise the care that a reasonably prudent person would exercise in like circumstances. The area of tort law known as negligence involves harm caused by carelessness, not intentional harm.

obviously you have been dragged up too. most of us learned not to play in the road when we were 2 years old:rolleyes:

Charming as usual.

Highway Code 2:
If there is no pavement, keep to the right-hand side of the road so that you can see oncoming traffic. You should take extra care and
  • be prepared to walk in single file, especially on narrow roads or in poor light
  • keep close to the side of the road.

There is no pavement and she is keeping to the correct side, and as close as possible to the edge of the road.

From your video you either; didn't see her until late so had to change your position late to drive round here, or you did see her and thought that you would drive past close to teach her that she shouldn't be on the road.

Would it have impacted you at all if you moved out over the centre line to pass her with plenty of space?

It says WALK SHE WAS RUNNING VERY FAST she dont know what is coming behind her and if it would be safe for me to pull out, see the side of the verge you could have moved on to to stay safe its over a meter wide.

British athletics say run with traffic and never wear head phones

People are daft, we don't all have common sense.. And not everyone follows the rules. She could have been training for a marathon, her stopping to get on the verge would affect her, you moving over a few metres wouldn't affect you. That verge has longish grass, which could hide hidden bricks and all sorts, not something you want to be walking on.

The below still stands:

Do British Athletics really say run with traffic? Bloody hell. Having grown up in the country I would never have done that. I tried running with headphones once but Walkmans were way too heavy in the 80's!!

vid is deceptive cam is on passenger side I have left her loads of room, but i wouldnt have been able to if a car was coming the other way i would have had to stop as she would be obstructing the highway. if she was running with the traffic it would just be like being behind a bike you have to go slower and stay behind but traffic keeps moving. our local marathon runs down this road and there are signs all down the road then telling runners to keep left

I am also one of the few who drive at or under the 40 speed limit on this road most do 60+

funniest thing i ever say, pavement full of students both directions.
parked cars to the side
a jogger running on the left, of the road at side of parked cars.
and a cyclist, who cause she had to ride around the runner, going a fair speed, abused him.

yes i assume they must have stats of members injured and deem this to be safer, anyone caught using headphones during a road race is disqualified

having split my front bumper and bent my radiator the other year moving onto a lovely green looking grass verge to give way to oncoming traffic i'll disagree about walking / running / pacing briskly on the grass verge there was a nice deep tractor rut hidden in the grass that i dropped into.....
:mad not to mention the general ****e that gets dumped there by fly tippers and crap that blows off lorries (ever been flail mowing?)

What would you have done had there been a car parked there or a broken down lorry with oncoming traffic? ohh yes you would have to stop till you could overtake the other road user safely

Perhapse they should spend more of your road tax on providing nice smooth shared footpath / cycle ways and more pedestrian crossings :slayer:

Cant remember the last time i see a parked or broken down lorry/car on this road but people running at cars is every day. you cant help breaking down eith but you can find safe places to run. less than half a mile from this is a road closed to through traffic that is about 2 miles long with 2 meter wide paths either side of it too.

Dave shouldn't be inconvenienced by these lower forms of life occupying HIS roads and deliberately getting in HIS way, it's a bloody disgrace!

The answer is to ban all pedestrians, cyclists and horses from the public roads....It's not like they were there before cars turned up is it?

Oh and don't forget....It's these idiots that break all the rules....Car drivers are never in the wrong!

;)
