So what was the outcome of this? Did she contest? did you use the footage as evidence?

No contest as she was 100% at fault. Haven't even advised of the footage as her insurance company admitted liability straight away, just sorting out repairs atm - although slowly loosing patience with them.

i wouldnt use that vid in a claim, it makes it look like you are way over the line and dont move back intime

Thats what I'm thinking. They don't know I've got it, techincally the lines are only warning lines, and not lane seperators so it shouldn't count, but I know exactly what you mean.

Her BF is calling me later, I'm going to say she was coming at me and replacement from eBay is £40-£50 and if they pay I'll be happy fitting it - it all goes sour I'm not going to push for insurance and will just sort it myself, with the **** thats happened over the last few weeks its the least of my worries tbh :bang:

Gawd Jon,

Turn the muppet magnet off mate

That must be your 3, hopefully the beast will stop attracting the dozy dimwits now.

Trev

Tell me about it, I normally enjoy driving, but it's times like these I hate (n)

I paused it at 10s, her 'side' looks to narrow much more than yours - and immediately before this, she has a nice little patch of dust she can pull over onto.

Whilst no-one really has ultimate right of way in this scenario, the fact that the road is obviously too narrow for two cars to pass comfortably and the fact that you are nearly through the narrow stretch PLUS the fact that she has bags of room to pull over puts her in the wrong.
You can see by the angle of your car & the muck you kick up behind that you've realised the gap isn't wide enough & attempted to get as far over as you can.
She, on the other hand, has simply figured - sod it, I'm gunning it.
Personally, I'd seriously consider pushing for them to pay based on your video.

I had similar this morning, wasn't going to bother but might just review it now

Exactly the logical conclusion I'd have though. I know I'd have stopped if I were in the Ford's position.

Only thing I find mildly amusing of the situation is the colour coded cover on my mirror flying to the ground at 0:23, and I then reverse over it but luckily didn't run it over, the single part with the most action and the least damaged part.

i was really waiting for the part where MEP comes around the corner and the audi has binned it - i was just waiting! but it didnt :(

The Wingmirrors, there is a point they will move, a point they wont
Looks like its just sods law, i wouldnt want to be the decider, the camera does make it look like your over tho as well!

Looks like it'll be going through insurance 'just seeking advise' was the other sides comment, while asking for my insurance details

Notified mine, advised I'm not wanting to claim, been put down as notification only atm. I advised that if other insurance co get in contact I've the video, without it its going to be 50:50, with it I've a bit of a chance at least, will fight it on the basis of what more could I have done vs her being able to stop and wait.

I used to have a Uno, some dozy bint came down the road, way over on my side, clipped the driver's wing mirror so hard that it folded flat to my door & shattered the glass. I was covered in those nasty little cubes of glass - of course, this was pre- dashcam days.
it was also mid winter, so even with the heater on full tilt, I was frozen when i got home.
Re the camera angle, these lenses are slightly wide angle so you will get the impression that you are further over.
End of the day, the road bottlenecks ahead of MEP & it looks like her side of the road is the side that narrows the most - but that could also be down to camera angles?

I'm going to go back down tomorrow, position my car on the line and see how it appears on the video to enable any wide angle compensation. Will also take video and pics of this with another device. Without both vehicles going up the verge (like we did) the road isn't wide enough for 2 vehicles, as I was there first (IE had long passed the last point in which I could have pulled in), I believe I technically have priority (although could be wrong?) and as a result she should have waited.

Who knows where it'll go (n)

Hey ho.
@ MEP - important thing to note with the insurance company, The huge lettering on the road telling HER to SLOW right before the bottleneck - this suggests to me that it was definitely your right of way.
