In winter times like recent when the windscreen is likely to ice up we cover it with plastic sheets etc to minimise the frost - works well.
We have heated rear windows so they clean easily.
However, being on a main road my wing mirrors (not heated) get a fair amount of muck and ice on them.

So I have had a Dragons den moment and am about to throw away my ability to patent it lol

I cannot find any sort of wing mirror sock/bag that covers the entire wing mirror.
I was thinking of making a pair, fleece inside so as not to scratch, waterproof material outside with a velcro strap to lock into place - perhaps some form of lock so they are not pinched.

Has anyone come across anything like this?

Can't see a point myself, don't you just wipe clean the door mirror glass when you clear the dew / ice off of all the other windows

Self sealing Sandwich bags?....or alternatively as suggested wipe your mirrors when setting off, it takes less effort than removing covers and storing them.

Heated mirrors are worse, when they get wet the heat evaporates off the water leaving the road salts and muck behind so the mirrors get dirtier and harder to see in much quicker than their non heated counter part, that said most of the dirt occurs on the roads when you're driving so any sort of cover wouldn't really help this, as for freezing I never really seam to have a problem, but then again I never cover the windscreen anyway.

Awww come on guys, I was really looking forward to my moment in the den :D

Being on a main road that gets a lot of traffic and gritters passing a simple wipe is not enough, they get really mucky and I have nowhere to store a spray and another cloth in a punto Evo. lol
I can hear it now, Theo would ask me how much I had spent on the design already, "About £2.50" I would say. he would slap his forehead and exclaim that I had wasted my life, deborah would get uppity with me and tell me off, Peter would like them and wish me all the best. Duncan would make some very grumpy noises and mutter something about them being stupid and Hilary would want a pair for each of her wagons but none of them would invest today.

Ah well - back to the drawing board....
