What size SD cards are you guys using?

How much do you get on an 8gb?
I want to order one but ensure I get the right sized SD card - I dont want to have to take stuff off it often, just leave it going. the one I linked can take upto 32gb.

Well, I couldn't wait.
I have spent under £18 on one like I linked above so I can tell you what its like in about a month when I receive it,, its being shipped from Mars :)
Went for a 16gb card - hopefully that will get to me a little quicker.

Its a toy, its worth a punt - the hardest bit will be wiring permanent power to it.
Thing is the evo is going into the dealers to have the dash removed for a wiring fault next week - I wonder if I can arrange something by then...

The 7dayshop one is getting slated for its quality so I dont expect mine to be much good at reading reg plates.

Although megapixels do play a part when using video you don't need to be looking at megapixels. For example technically a 2MP camera lens is capable of capturing 1080p footage. Megapixels only matter really when taking still photos. You need to be looking for its video resolution which will be something like 640x480 for most cheap cameras, basically the higher the resolution the better. 720p (1280x720) is a much higher quality resolution but will come at a price.

Mine arrived this morning :D Promptly came home from work and just took it for a test spin :p

Actually have to admit, i'm quite impressed! I shall post the video footage i got from it on here in a while. Currently awaiting it to upload to youtube. My first youtube upload and it says done in 156 minutes! Ahhhh :bang:

So i will be back later with the clip!

Right, well the initial 1st test was 10 minutes long and took far to long to upload, so i promptly deleted it and went out to make another. One that is under 2 minutes long. So, this being my first ever youtube contribution - go easy! Haha

Enjoy. I'm quite chuffed with it! Need to work on the rattle though, and please ignore the squeaky clutch. Its been warm today so its decided to start making a noise again. Nice timing for a new video aswell eh!

"Britt" - New Toy (Test Run 1.2)

Quite chuffed aswell, as the chap with the t-jet (i think) who lives just on the corner from me popped out at the junction as i drove past. Couldn't have timed it better, absolutely lovely motor!

Thats good quality footage.
What camera is it?
Ta

Without reposting and already posted link lol, its on the other page, right at bottom i believe. Thats the eBay link to the one i bought. Cracking buy, for £20! i'm chuffed to bits. Going to West Midlands Safari Park tommorow (weather pending) and i'm going to see what i can catch with it there. Who knows, close up lion on the bonnet :slayer:

Just purchased this one as its from a uk business. So i'm (A) supporting our economy, and (B) got some reassurance should something go wrong and i don't have to track down and contact malaysian/thai/singapore/china/japanese companies ect.

Sounds like you've been purchasing things from me ... :p

Mine rattles like that nothing to do with the stop or mount, I believe having pulled mine to bits (because i do that sort of thing) it seems the microphone might be rattling against the inside of the casing or the buttons rattling, not quite pinned it down yet.

Sounds exactly like what i do :p bought a cheapo memory stick a while back and the LED inside wasnt alighned right so i took it apart and fixed it and at the same time, water proofed it by filling the casing with bathroom sealant! :p its been through the wash 3 times and its still working good as new :p

Thats the same one I am awaiting, mine was £17.50.

The video looks good for that price.

How do you find the rest of the system? menus easy to navigate?

Have you sussed the motion detection?

How long was the power cable? I can see it will be a challenge to fit that.

How big was the 10 mins of recording?

If mine rattles like that I too will be dismantling it and fettling it.

I can see a project for a raspberry pi appearing with this, it would be good if it had a 2nd camera input as then a rear one could be fitted - but the cost is low enough for a rear one to be bought.
