11/11/11 11:11am - Where were you?

Well, at 11am on the dot I was standing in front of my telly in silence watching the news with tears rolling down my face. I'm so sad. But I don't care, it was my way of showing a little bit of respect.

At 11.11am, I think I was making a cup of tea. :D

Was Fixing a lift so completely unaware of the time. So no doubt i was being very loud and aggressive ( its the only way to be on old heavy machinery) Fixed it too. ;)

At Tameside General Hospital getting my leg looked at. Walked out of the consulting room jabbering to Mrs. Beard straight into a silent waiting room. Oops!

Stood in the doorway for the remaining 90 seconds. Even the two Asian blokes complete with long beards gave us a dirty look.

I was in an exam so it was actually a requirement for me to observe the 2 mins silence. I even stopped writing so there were no sounds of my pen scratching on the paper - mainly because I didn't know the answers, but the thought was there.

I had just dropped off a chap in a wheelchair & got back to my bus when I noted the time was a fraction before 11 so I turned on the radio to get a timecheck.
Stood silent for 1 minute then the radio station started playing bee gees for about 30 seconds :bang:

THEN, some dozy mare comes up to me ranting and raving "are you going to move because I'm waiting to park"
So I said "hellooooo, 2 minutes' silcence, my God woman, have you got NO respect?"
So she got back in her car - and I had another 2 minute silence uninterrupted :D
By 11:11 I was in the market square where the old soldiers etc were still laying a wreath on the memorial & playing last post etc.
All very moving.

So what were you doing 9 minutes later then?

same :D

Just getting out the toilet after the biggest dump of my life (had to hold it in for the 3 minute silence!)

brilliant :D

stopped for 2 minutes while stripping a scudo apart to pay my respects, wife was in tescos and everyone respected the 2 minute silence except a member of staff who when prompted said 'f*ck that'.....ungrateful f*cker, lucky I wasn't there at the time:mad:
