A second spare tyre
A blanket
A bag of salt
De-icer is a must
Ready meals (the silver bags)
I disagree. Thats totally untrue...
When weather changes and we get ice, silicone grease your door seals, or you may not get into the car to get any where
Id also suggest your petrol flap too, mine got stuck last year a couple of times even though it doesnt have a seal on it
or tap the top of the door alot

maybe where you stay mate but no super 'winter tyres' would help up here.

Greasing or Oilingthe buggers didnt work
So will silicone grease actually make an difference?
Also a Neat little gadget to consider - winter is hard on batteries and alternators
So a Little Volt Meter to let you know if the 2 are working fine
Also handy so you know if you can charge your phone or not

I'd rather use silicone OIL as opposed to grease (less messy)
apply to a cloth and just wipe on..
Volt meter wont give an accurate reading you want a proper battery tester

you didn't say it was a spray i think of silicone grease as in the stuff you use on HT caps eg

never seen a car van taxi pizza delivery mini bus, now that's a real MPV
ive never seen that, some one on here recommended silicone grease a few years back, i went to a motor shop an all i see was a spray can of it so got that an it seemed to work. that reminds me i need a new can soon i think that one is nearly all gone
Look in lidl dave they have cans of "universal oil" in for 99 p each from memory thats pure silicone oil (well as pure as you can get in an aerosol)

Grabbed a pic of my "winter kit" in addition to the usual junk in my boot
quick list of whats there:
Stove (butane and propane mix)
mess tin
Food
matches,
Lighter,
Flint and steel and fire kit
Torch x 2 for some reason
Compass
few candles,
Cylume light sticks
knife fork spoon
Wooly hat and gloves
Snow chains
snow shovel
Survival bag
Foil blanket
and packed in a small dry duffle bag
Need to add a bit more food to it (other stuff was out of date or been eaten) and a few tea bags and cup
usually have a bottle of water with me and a couple of smaller mineral water bottles in teh car anyhow

yeah but be mad to spend a fiver on fuel to save 3 quid on a tin
