Haven't posted up a question for a while. Given all the discussion lately on certain issues, I would ask what in your neck of the woods is the most/worst type of bad driving habit you come across?

My wife & I had the pleasure to drive down & back after a few days on the roads of Loch Ness. Stunning scenery, anyway what we noticed, was the amount of vehicles cutting corners/over the white lines, coming toward you. The road has improved over the years. It's all two lanes, generous as well, so no excuses. The traffic wasn't that heavy, but after a while it did become very tiring & we did wonder what the hell would we encounter at the next bend or corner.

No chances of tiredness on this road, that's for sure.......To be honest this is more of a rant. Apologies.

Definitely businessmen/execs/sales rep either nipping in front of you in a queue of traffic to save time, or steaming right up behind you if you pull out to overtake a slower car and you're going less than 70mph.

You guys have got it good - you should see the driving out here.

My number 1 hate is that no one uses indicators, nor do they look when pulling out. The amount of times I've nearly gone into the side of a car or van when on my scooter is unreal. People swerve all over the place!

Still, it's much safer than Bangkok ...

However, I'm not a saint either. I'll go through a red if nothing is coming, turn right on reds if ever I get stuck at one, go down a one way street the wrong way - and - one which I'm sure you'll all want to kill me for - drive down the pavement if the road is congested.... hehe

Lol I'd imagine a car is pretty useless in Thailand etc
The traffic in Bangkok is so bad that yeah, a car isn't ideal. If you live out in the sticks though, they are very useful.

As for Taipei - traffic isn't so bad here. Once I get my ARC (resident card) I'll be looking to buy a car, simply so I can travel outside the city at the weekends (and possibly drive to uni - depends if I can get a parking space there :))

We get the typical sales execs in their Audi's/BM's tailgating, crazy old women who cant see over the dash and drive everywhere in 2nd, people just cannot park in general, and in the mornings and afternoons by my college, kamikaze bus drivers (n)

The usual Pull outs and lack of indicators
And the lack of people getting upto speed is the main problem in my area

But there is on 1 event where i've had several Arse hole drivers....
There is 2 lanes on a roundabout - Left is Left Only
Right hand lane is Right and straight on

No end of cars go in the left hand lane and then cut across the roundabout like its a go-kart track
I've had soo many near misses, but good horn and brakes soon tell them there a **** :)

Alot people need there heads screwing back on

Quite a few years ago I was in Taipei. I woke up in my hotel bed in the middle of the night wondering why I seemed to be on board a ship. My bed was moving up and down and side to side. The more I woke the more I realised that it wasn't just my bed that was moving - the room, in fact the building was swaying from side to side.
Yes it was an earthquake.
The following day I got in a taxi and the driver was hurtling between two lines of parked cars with not a care in the world. Only I in that car seemed to be concerned that somebody might pull out of a side street.......bang. Too late.
So in the course of 6 hours I was in an earthquake and then in a car crash.
Here we have all the above mentioned annoyances - drivers that cut corners, cut you up at roundabouts, pull out in front of you, drive up your exhaust pipe etc. But you just have to take pride in the fact that you are expecting it so you are therefore a bit safer.
Any anywhere in the UK is safer than Taipei, on scooter!!

Just be aware of the traffic light rules on Gregory Boulevard in Nottingham.

Green - Go
Amber - Go
Red - Go if no coppers in the area

Today, old fart driving an oldfartmobile sat in the outside lane of 2 waiting on the solid double lines to turn right - to cross two lanes of oncoming traffic - despite him sitting on no overtaking lines AND staring at a 'no right turn' sign, he still sat and waited.
As for me, well I simply drove the 50 yards to the roundabout and came back up the other side - by which time, he'd only just made it across.

Got my revenge though, as he tried to turn around in the surgery car park, he hit a couple of cars. I took his number & those of the two he hit & left a note under the wipers of the two cars offering my expert witness services :D
With any luck, his insurance will make sure he has to retake his test because he sure as hell sees nothing wrong with his driving.

Then there was the young tit who pulled onto a roundabout under my front wheels, took the left hand lane then pulled into the right hand lane (again, under my front wheels) just as I was coming past him. I was turning right at the next roundabout, he wanted to go straight ahead so was going to force his way across into the traffic on the other side of the small roundabout. Little nobjockey even stared at me in his wing mirror WTF is that about? If I wanted a race, I would have took his @rse end off as he cut across without indicating.

Got roundabout rage by another Panda last night!

There is a large 4 exit roundabout on the way home....I approach from 6 o'clock and there are exits at 8 o'clock, 10-11 o'clock and the one I take is at 1-2 o'clock, so I am in the RH lane until I pass exit 2, then I indicate, move over and take the exit.....

Well that is how I see it....

Mr Suit in his Blue 07 Panda (Hello if you're reading!) decides he is going to go at the same task in the LH lane, 1 car behind me.....

Fair enough, the lane choice is maybe debatable.....Anyway, I pass exit 1 and I can see on my NS rear quarter, this guy in the Panda trying to undertake me....We pass exit 2 and I am ready to indicate and move over for exit 3, when Mr Panda slams up the inside, shouting his head off as if I am in the wrong....

Now sorry, but I believe the RH lane is the correct lane for the 3rd exit, but even if it isn't, there is no way, that undertaking on the NS of a roundabout from a car length behind is legal....

:bang:

Goin to Young Farmers last night, I was driving on a straight that goes into Woodhall Spa, I come up behind a car doing 30mph in a 60 so I went to overtake, got closer it was a couple and they looked like they were arguing. I was going past when he came over to the otherside, pushing me onto the grass verge. At that point I sh*t myself as my car gives a lovely squeel from the tyres, I somehow managed to get back on the road and straighten up!
