Yet my 1986 Golf has virtually no rust compared to my daughter's 2000 Punto which had £300 of welding for the last MOT & lookd like it will need the same for the next one.
I have got a 2000 Punto with no rust and a 1999 BMW 728i Sport that has rust across the bottom of the boot lid. I have owned the BM since it was 3 years old, so I don't know if had had some repairs done on the boot before, but it's a bit surprising that a car that would have been over 40 grand new is rusting quicker than a similar age Punto (that I have owned for 4 years).
Out of interest Gaz, where is the rust on your Punto that needs/ needed fixing?
