Whats the crack, how do they measure up compared to butlings?

Mrs dave booked a short break with a kgb deals voucher

conformation says can buy prepaid electric cards, what's that all about, is it at a fair rate? butlins it's always free

It also says people cant take their own heaters, why does it say that are the heaters there crap? cant think of any other reason people would take their own.

well we went, not much has changed since i last went to a pontins about 20 years ago and that time it hadn't changed since the time before that and that was 36 years ago.

the kgb deal was £39 for b&b in economy accommodation, we decided to pay for upgrade at extra £50 but wish we hadn't as all you get for that is a bigger front door, an towels at pakefield.
unfortunately it don't mean the standard of accommodation is better,
it was clean but basic all they have done since the 1970s is go to argos and get a couple of cupboards i think.
their top of the range accommodation makes butlins ghetto look posh.

their restaurant food is the worse ive ever had, luckily their was a morrisions half a mile down the road so was able to get meals there,

grandson loved it though, so did most of the kids there under about 8, kids that was older looked a bit bored, place had coaches full of oaps that i think have gone there every year since it opened and dont know any better.

we would go there again if another £39 offer comes up but wouldn't upgrade and wouldn't be so gutted as we would be prepared for it, but this time as we had heard pontins went bust and someone else had took them over and spent money we had our hopes too high.

If you are one of the people who thinks British jobs should go to British people you will like it at pontins, all staff are local but they are slack and uncaring.

with out the kgb voucher this would have cost some poor buggers £300

ouch

would have been fine for £39, my moaning is more for anyone thinking of booking for the real price as a main uk holiday, as some where just to take small kid(s) if you can get an offer its not too bad.
it was only an hour and a quarters drive away too, if you had to drive for half a day to get there it would maybe seem worse.

one we went to is pakefield, they may have spent all the money else where, there is a video of some accommodation on the website but it dont say where it is, but its nothing like we had here

one thing is you get what you pay for normally

i prefer a b&b having that personal thing

nothing for a little dude to do in a B&B though,

we got a deal but not everyone there did some paid same money they would have if they had gone butlins.

we read reviews before we went some was good some was bad, i think all the good ones must have been written by people who work there :p

i have to agree my parents used to dump is in them things on holiday.
differenced was be and bro was 10-12 so just sacked em off if we got bored and got the cleaner to unlock the room door much to my mums annoyance, and changed to go to the beach

Am I reading this right?
You went there on holiday and they locked you in your room, so you had to persuade the cleaner to let you out?
Are you sure that was holiday camp?

What is a KGB voucher?
Why did you need to buy pre-paid electricity?

kgb deals advertised on tv using blue 500's you must have seen the ad.

some of the pontins site says you have to pay for electric in the standard chalets, we didnt in the end as we paid extra £50 for an upgrade, but now wish we had just paid for electric instead as the upgrade wasnt worth the money.

i forgot another worrying issue, there is no where to boil the kettle safely away from toddlers, so you have to stand by it keeping them away and then put in on top or wardrobe when finished.

Is that the girls in the drift cars?
If so, yes I have seen those ad's but never bought anything off them yet.
That's Mrs Codger's area of expertise. She's always coming up with deals from Groupon. We got a good weekend hotel break with them. The whole place was full of Groupon people. Makes you wonder what the hotel would have been doing without the deal to be honest.
Good job you spotted the possibilities for disaster with the kettle. Surely that's a bit basic in a place designed to cater for kids?
