Had an interesting meeting today - food for thought.

Basically, which of the following do you prefer:

Grade A, highest quality memory chips (Ink Die), 10 year retention - branded either Samsung or Kingston memory made 100% in Taiwan - but at a price (10-20% higher than budget one from 7ds).

Or

Grade B, still high quality, but made with a Good Die instead, 8 year data retention, made in China - price comparable or slightly lower than 7dayshop / ebay.

So far I only have some A grade quotes, which I am working on lowering.

To get the Chinese quotes will take a bit longer and more effort on my part, so only worth pursuing if people would actually want those - hence my question above

I've got one of those on my desk now actually.

But basically the form doesn't matter, the cost is minimal. The main pricing is in the memory chip - once that is an at acceptable level, we can decide what style we want.

A grade if its about 10 quid for 16gb or somthing would be nice

I wouldnt mind which grade, probably B if anything if its still high quality. But i saw one of those tiny USB sticks which The Unknown just showed the other day and thought it was awesome. Would very much like them to be like that.

I still think the key style are the best, kinda fitting well with the car theme

I'd be interested in either grade, they're both good enough. Dependent on price of course. The form shown above look good.

The little black one is what The Unknown posted above, and the big credit card one is the one dave posted a while back.

Got to say I'm liking the look of the key one. But could it break if I had too many keys on it?

that key one looks massive and not very key like. new fiat keys are all made to look like memory sticks anyway aint they?

i think the credit card style is cool and can keep it handy in your wallet

yer didnt thinka bout that but will wear your wallet a bit. be better if somhow it retracts but still thin.

it has to be as thick as a credit card as well

Key one is the size of a normal house key and as wide as a USB port, it's what I carry around with me.

Though I'm assuming if you were going to use it in the car, you wouldn't have it on your keychain anyway - as you wouldn't be able to start your engine ...
