i did a HC1 form a few months back, took quite a while to get back to me. Read it once then shredded and threw away. You can guess the level of support

I forgot to post the reply I received which although comprehensive, does little to help:
Hello Mr. *******, thank you for your email. Please accept our apologies for the delay in replying. The regulations and the amounts we use in the assessments on the Low Income Scheme, are set down by the government, namely the Department of Health, and we have no way of changing or amending these regulations. I can say, however, that the assessments are based on your circumstances at the time you apply only, therefore, if you have had a change in circumstances ie. you may now be in a new academic year then you could always reapply to us on a new application form, as the assessment would now be different to the last one we did for you. You may end up with more help than you did the last time you applied. We no longer have your HC1 application form in the office I'm afraid, as they go into storage after 3 months, so I don't have access to your details that were on that form, or the income you had at that time, however, if you would like to apply again, and would like us to send you out a new application form, then by all means, let us know, and we will put one in the post for you. I have also passed your comments onto our customer service manager, so he has a record too.
