i have got one light bulb that works intermittantly(only works if i give it a whack!),seem to see a lot of puntos driving round with the same, any ideas if this is a common fault? :D

no Idea, sounds like a dodgy connection (but then you probably knew that)... try asking this question in the punto section, this thread is likely to get trashed otherwise.

A question about lightbulbs! Paul?
Seriously though which ones the headlights or what, what do you mean you whack them? Have you tried just fiddling with the connections...

Had a Punto Sporting for 5 years and never had any problems with Headlights. If banging it works then I would suggest checking all the connections around the back when it isn't working and fiddle with them to find out which one is the problem. I don't think a continous banging will be good for it (the light that is!)

Lol - let's see if this carries on eh Stu?

Mate what TT said is the best idea - it'll take a bit of fiddling to get thru them all because you could accidentally knock one and get the wrong wire - alternatively take it to a garage and they'll check it

hmm, I knew this was going to happen.

stu, FYI: either light bulb or lightbulb are correct

It's just a question of whether you come down on the right side of the fence or not.

A lot of cars appear to have dodgy bulbs at this time of year because people use them more ;). I just broke my sidelight bulbs by painting them with nail varnish (don't ask), dunno why it upset them but it did even though I didn't touch the connections to do it :(. Puntobloke I would check the connection at the back of the bulb - sometimes they are a very tight fit so the connector may not be all the way onto the bulb, a thin coat of lubricant can help it slip into place.
