| Moderator | help, internet down! Please, can anyone help as Microsoft Explorer 6 keeps causing the internet to close down. Cant seem to reinstall explorer 4 as its gone! Can run without it but its all slow and weird. Basically I keep getting invalid page faults with module errors, and microsofts support site hasnt really helped, and it costs £45 to ring the theives! It was BT that suggested uninstalling 6, and its working but Im sure you need an explorer of some sort, also the wifes not a happy bun cos all her MS sites are down!

| Forum moderator | Re: help, internet down! I am a big Opera fan, it still has the best features but Firefox is catching up (however I've got used to this rendering engine now anything else seems weird) http://www.opera.com . This is only really any good if you have the time and patience to set it up the way you want it, if you want something that works 'out of the box' then it's not for you and I would suggest trying Netscape, the 'out of the box' version of Firefox. Have you also tried doing a virus scan, system file check and scandisk?

| Moderator | Re: help, internet down! Thanks Helz, did a scan disk and system checker, now running Microsoft 5.5 and seems to be OK, ish! Some MS stuff not working but will wait and see, apparently lots of peeps are having trouble with Microsoft at the mo.
