Another of my Heroes passes away.

This has made me very sad

He made me laugh and championed bands I would never had heard.

I'm gutted. I also regarded John as something of a hero.

May the great man rest in peace, and may his legend live on.

I'm devastated ... he was the one who introduced me to the folk bands that I love now; Fairport Convention, Steeleye Span, the Albion band ...

And other bands too ... Tangerine Dream, Roxy Music ...

may he rest in peace..he really pushed uk happy hardcore on his late night shows :/

I've been listening to him for over 37 years. Well shocked.

It's very sad, he was very very good at what he did.

Can't beleive this post is the first I have heard.
What a blow, The different styles and diverse range of music that man has brought to millions who would otherwise have never heard music so diverse, the man was :worship:

Very fitting tribute IMO

I think that is really nice. To be honest, he'll never be forgotten though for his great effect on the music listened to by joe public and his great personality which was so down to earth. Really going to miss his show.

I was sooo shocked and upset when I heard this the other night - great man he will be missed he did the music industry a great favour

i dont listen to the radio so didnt know who he was *awaits boo's and hiss's*

but from what i have learnt about him then i realised what a great part he had in the music industry
