You seem to be talking about turbochargers, whilst everyone else is taking about superchargers.

You do know the difference between the two right?

Turbo charger spins up using exhaust gas pressure - hence turbo lag with big turbos etc.

Supercharger is mechanically driven by the engine so that you have constant 'boost'.

A Supercharger would be refered to as a blower as it is essentially a fan blowing air into the engine. A turbo charger is recyling the exhaust gases to create pressure....

i understand that yes. although not specifically how a supercharger works. although i believe i do now.

on the set me straight front i know and i thank him for trying to be helpful all i meant was that as anyone can write an article on wiki for example have you never when bored edited an article to read something stupid for example that michael jackson is in fact green?

There is no english and American sense.

A blower is a supercharger on both sides of the atlantic. An exposed intake is an exposed intake on both sides of the atalantic. You can have a car in America with a blower and have a solid bonnet. It doesn't need to poke throught the bonnet for it to be called a blower even if you are american.

if you can actually see it on the bently then i would sy it is the gray box on the front bumper behind the small piece of mesh. although i expect this is in fact wrong.

i dont disagree with you. i have heard an air scoop called a blower though.

These pictures you are referring to. They are highly powered SUPERCHARGED American muscle DRAG RACING V8 engined powerful bastards producing up to or even well over 700bhp.

IF you have a MASSIVE AIR INTAKE then the engine can SUCK in the ridiculous quantities of air in order to get the raw brute force out of that American V8.

If you open the bonnet on your GP active, you will notice it has an airbox, to suck air in.

THERE ARE NO SUPERCHARGED GRANDE PUNTO's - Even if there were, they wouldnt have some stupid piece of **** airscoop sticking out of the bonnet because its not a Drag Racer!
