Phantom plate

Very illegal and leaves plate noticeable that it's been 'tampered' with (gives orange reflective background a funny tint - as proven on by several local chavs on various episodes of Road Wars)

i was looking as my brother got a speeding ticket,i wonder if there is any legal way round it.Fairenough he shouldnt of been speeding but the camera wasnt visible until he was upclose it was in back of a van he said.

my uncle has some plates that are made of a different material that do not show up.

although he did take a pic fairly close up.

what happens in day time? (i know it still flashes) but does it actually light up the plate?

Imagine the flash is for night time but aren't disabled in the day, worth testing your uncles plate with a flash gun at about 8 feet ;)

Van's arent very visable normally till close up, its only the statics that have to be fairly obvious.

This is my counter of choice:

personally i find the best thing to do is to stick to the speed limit, i know it's a bit of a wacky idea and will probably never catch on but it does seem to work for me somehow! it's not to say i'm sticking religously to limits all the time but a bit of common sense goes a long way.

Legal way around it: Don't speed!

Speed Camera Van: Somewhere along the road there would have either been signs for speed cameras or those small temporary ones places by the camera van itself.

I tend to stick to the speed limit, it useful to know when there's a camera up ahead and get warning that someone is going to slam the brakes on up front then I can at least back off incase they cause chaos (seen it done).

Also interesting to see where they hide them.

Having it go off also makes me check my speed if I haven't spotted the camera too :)

I think it's one of those products that it is perfectly legal for them to sell it to you and legal for you to have in your garage but, use it as you're thinking about and you will get in a lot of trouble. Not worth it.
