Winter sun advice please

Anyone got any advice for destinations for warm weather during end of October?

After such a wet miserable summer we all feeling like some sun on our skin!

So, needs to be somewhere warm, reachable in reasonable time (ie not far east / australia!), and a reasonable cost

Any ideas?

Not too far and always warm and there's plenty of gays so it must be good, LOL

we went at christmas and it was still nicely warm, walking around in shorts and t shirts etc

'Abby Winters' - who she?

Canaries - yep, wondered about them. I have no need for gays thank you! Was there enough to do on the islands? Heard mixed reviews

Cypress? - wasn't sure if the Med. was warm enough at that time of year? I had wondered about Sicily, or possibly Malta as well.

Or even southern Turkey, which we vaguely know as we toured around there a few years back

Best island I think is Tenerife, good night life, some great beaches, I would definatly take a trip to Mount Tede, you could rent a car and travel around the island, you can go island hopping there are so really nice small untouched islands, boat trips, adventure days etc. There is plently to do, you just have to look!
