National speed limit dual carriageway. Came off the roundabout in the right-hand lane and hit that bolt at about 55-60. Massive thump from rear drivers side door and when I stopped to check that's what I saw. Went back to see if I could see anything that could be blamed but looks like someones HGV has been falling apart. Barstewards.

Any ideas of cost?

so have i
some dick decided he would overtake a lorry on a single carageway sliproad onto the motor way and me traviling at 50 on motorway got 100s of stones :(
if i see him again im gonna ram the **** and carry on going

A bodyshop will charge you £650 - £800 to do it properly, a friend of mine scraped her car in a parking accident, door respray was £700. Insurance paid up, she thought of covering the cost herself but when she heard the price changed her mind.

EDIT: not just door, also rear wheel arch resprayed.

If you have no claims protection on your insurance you should consider letting the insurance deal with it, plus there's the issue of the corrosion warranty with a new car. Get it done properly, would be a shame to be the driver of a 3 year old Bravo with a rusty door.

Get chipsaway out for a quote....they sprayed this out as well as another on the back for 165 quid and they matched the paint spot on(y) Tbf they even told me what variation (apparently paint on cars even with the same colour name go through several shades from start of production run to end) on supreme red my car is no 2 apparently!

I'd rather not use chip's away. A bodyshop will cut back most of the bottom of the door and respray with colour, and blow the lacquer into the front door and over the rest of the rear door. Chips away will just fill the dent with filler and fill and lacquer the scratch.

Bodyshop would do that for £250. They'll probably still fill it.

You could try a chips away / dent man. They should be able to massage the dent out then blow a little paint over it. It won't be perfect but will cost alot less.
