Exclamation Alloy size help.

Got some new alloys but without tyres. Thing is they are gonna be a squeeze in my arches so will need to get as low a profile as possible and as narrow a tyre as safe on the rim. Need help

7Jx18 H2 whats the options on alloys this size?

Re: Alloy size help.

Maybe a silly question but why go for such large alloys that are going to be difficult to fit without cutting or rolling the arches?

Wouldn't 17" be a better idea? Or is it a size thing? Alloy envy?

Re: Alloy size help.

Already got 17"s on it. Also the price I got them for it would be criminal not to put them on.

Re: Alloy size help.

for the width of the tyre your going to need to know the width oif the actual rim? this then can help calculate which tyre yoiu need, im guessing your gonna need something like a 40 profile, or maybe a 35?

looks like the tyre size would be 205 x 35 x 18, dont see anything narrower than 205..

Re: Alloy size help.

You can fit 195 / 205 / 215 on a 7J rim, you can go smaller than 195 if you want a stretch. You would probably want a 40 profile on it, anything less than 40 will give a really hard ride and potholes etc will have a greater chance of damaging the rim. You may need to go smaller than a 40 profile though to get them to fit in your arches without rubbing...

Re: Alloy size help.

Cheers guys. I don't want to be streching the tyres it's not a look I likel.
if 205/35/18s fit without a stretch I thinkk thats what I'll go for.
