i'm trying to put some pictures of the mrs 100hp to show you guys.
i have some from when we bought it and now that we have done a couple of things to it.
the problem i have is that i keep getting this message " [/IMG]" when i try to get them on this post.

can anyone help?

I upload my photo's to my www.photobucket.com page, then it gives you the links automatically for either adding to forums or just emailing to your friends. Saves you having to type it in all the time and gives you a central place to keep your nice pics.

please can we use ff to host either via gallery or attachment
off site hosting puts strain on the servers plus we end up with old threads with missing pics
the other day i saw a 6 day old thread with dead off site image links

whats hard about using an attachment? its a copy and paste from photobucket.

i've managed to get some in my photo gallery now so quite pleased so far, just have to ry to get them in this thread.

go to the full message view and click my gallery pics under the smileys see what that does

under every pic it says BB Code: just copy and paste whats in the box after into thread

if useing IE just click the copy button then paste in to thread

i think this is them.

That may be, but unless people start using the Gallery and attachments for members motors and technical type threads, then the only option will be to STOP all external linking - not an option we want to go down, but it has been mooted already.

I will start using the FF gallery when I am given back control over my right to delete them.

Ben is looking into a script that will check to see if the pic is actually linked into a thread, and if not, make it safe to delete by the member - BUT this may cause a lot of strain on the server.

If you want to use Photobucket, feel free you can then have that warm fuzzy feeling when all external links are banned

I'm very lazy when it comes to computer's...if it's not spelt out for me I won't use it.

As you seem so determined for me to use FF, I will give it a go! But the moment I start having problems, I'll head back to photobucket

crap reason, once a picture is on the net it is stolen and kept in cache by search engines and people too, so it will always be on the net some where, so why not here

we are going over old ground and as said ben is looking into it.
however the point stands when you see the link i posted,would you prefer that version of threads?

Because the owner should have a right to do what they want with their property as far as is practical/legal?

I do feel that the script would be a useful addition to the forum, as long as the members are aware of the implications of posting their pics on a given thread. I believe I started a thread in a similar vein several weeks ago in the 'Site Ideas' section.

but everyone on this forum and most others have ticked the box that says every thing they post is owned by the forum, to do with as they like!
