,,,on my main ebay account I share with my wife, our feedback score is 600odd. But she buys and sells alot of baby stuff so I created my own EBay account and sold a few bits and bobs. One of them being Command and Conquer, Tiberium Wars for the 360. All games I sell I try first to make sure they load etc. Bearing in mind when I was selling the games my new Ebay account has feedback 0, now 6. The buyer of Command and Conquer sent me this message,,,,

Dear xboxgaz,

Having problems with the game i won.It won't load,i have tried cleaning it tried another game then that still not working. So i would lik my money back please

Now I know full well that this game worked perfectly on my Elite, do you think that,,

a) It genuinely don't work.
b) He don't like the game and is trying it on.

I replied with,,,

Dear waggle1972,

Thats odd, it played perfectly fine on my Elite as I tried it before I sent it out, nor are there any excessively large scratches on the disc. Please return the game to me and I will try on my 360. If it works I will return it to you. If you don't like the game, just say so, its no problem.

When he returns the game and it works, what should I do, refund him or return it to him?

Sounds like the blokes trying it on. End of the day second hand goods, was working when dispatched, if he sends it back and if it's damaged say it has been returned in a damaged state and there won't be a refund.

Well say sorry but it was posted in a good state and if it was damaged in trnasit then he should have asked for postal insurance. But put if he sends it back you will be unable to refund his money until a complaints procedure form has been lodged. then if he is trying it on he may not want this on his record and change his mind :)

Exactly that, it was in perfect condition when I sent it and working as well. I have Emailed EBay for advice,,,,,,

wrong,wrong,wrong

its down to the seller to get an item to the buyer safely.

as for the original problem then i advise you take a return and refund(after retesting it)
tell them you will accept the game but if its fully working then will only refund-postage and they pay their own return postage.
be aware if they go to paypal and submit an item not as described dispute then paypal will get them ot return the item for a refund.
if they didnt pay buy PP then it just depends how much you value feedback ;)

Surely that can't be.

If i post a letter and the van gets stolen and burnt out (long stretch i know) but then how can i be held respoinsible

Its simple enough to ask for postal insurance and it costs very little so for things like that it would make sense to pay the extra few quid and get it safe.

Personally I would offer a refund on the onus that you can have it back to test. If it's broken due to mishandling on RMs part then you can claim for the damage (if you sent it via Standard Parcels then you automatically have up to £34 cover).

Yeah i have too aggree with everyone else if you know you tested it and it was working perfectly fine with no problems he will be trying it on

you get varying levels of insurance on postage items already.the sender is the customer of RM,not the recipient.
recipient can complain to RM but only the sender can claim compo

i thought as soon as it enters the postal system it becomes property of whoever it is addressed to?

belongs to the queen until delivered

Well I've messaged him again, offering a full refund ONCE I recieve the game back from him. I have asked him not to leave me feedback untill I have tested the game, if it works don't leave me any as I will resell the game on EBay. If it don't work then I'll trade it at Game as long as its not damaged. IE scratches etc, I know the game was not scratched before I sent it.

I heard about this Negative feedback thing, it was because Powersellers were leaving negative feedback to buyers who complained about poor service they have recieved from the PowerSellers.

Personally I feel that EBay should go back to its roots, no EBay shops and get rid of Buy it Now,,,,,

And get rid of this hiding bidders identities on auctions going over £100. Very hard to find shill bidders on auctions otherwise, but unlikely to happen as 'hidden' shill bidders simply make more money for Ebay thanks to the higher final value fees...

i have never had this problem yet, i have 100% positive feed back but i have heard of p*ss taking c*nts like that, god help them if they ever try it on with me. i would look through his feed back mate and find if there is any bad feed back he has and try find out if he has done it before. it could be that he has had his xbox flashed to play copy games and it is f*cking up now, alot of people have this problem.

Well I messaged him that I am seeking "advice" from EBay, and low and behold its working now!;)

He left me good feedback as well.
