its a disgrace. i used to be a big fat barsteward and it was definatley my fault, i ate crap all day and never got off my fat arse. as if by magic when i stopped eating crap and started getting exercise i lost over 5 stone. wow i wonder who's responsible for that weight loss? it obviously cant be me, i'm just an average joe, i'm responsible for nothing other than destroying the environment and paying taxes. its a frigging mess.

I am very over weight and belive me it is not that simple to lose weight!
In fact it is fcuking hard!
I am trying to do something about it... (lost 2st so far. 8 to go!)

I think theres one simple option to sort this, make the doors on food places a certain width (average sub 18 stone person can just fit through). Then they'll have no option but to wait untill they can fit through the entrance.

the other thing that annoys me about obesity is the suggested costs, you always hear things such as:
"In 2002, those who were overweight or obese cost nearly £7bn in treatment and state benefits and in indirect costs such as loss of earnings and reduced productivity."
i'm not saying these costs dont exist, but we cant ignore the savings, fat people die younger and that saves pension payments, it reduces the misbalance between old and young, it free's up housing for the elderly, if we all lived long healthy lives the country would be screwed unless we worked until we were 80.

As an ex 20 stoner now at 14 stone for the last 10 years I say it IS up to the individual. :) Its choices made, bad ones make u fat. :(
Get out and dance and eat less, most of all drink less beer, I switched to short drinks on my nites out, didnt need many to have the same effect as 6 pints lol! (y)
I danced twice a week, got rid of the choccy bars, crisps, cakes and bread and hey presto!
And jeez it is SO much easier to pull when at your fighting weight! :slayer:

dancing was my secret weapon against the belly as well, it works wonders.

definately agree about the pulling, you dont have to search for a hen party playing pull the pig any more :slayer:

do you blame the govt and make them pay you?

Of coarse not

I ate too much and did too little.

Its very easy to get fat, not so easy to get thin. (although the theory is simple - EAT LESS DO MORE)

I think genes do have an effect on things though and also illness. It annoys the hell out of me when people automatically assume that large people eat too much.
My sisters are far bigger than me, when we were kids we ate the same food. So I think some people will just have a natural problem all their lives.

lol I just done my BMI and its about 17.6...maybe is cos im sooo healthy ;)..or maybe due to cigarettes eh  lol

Well done on the what you have already lost (y)

My other sister lost 8 stone over this past year (the 'not' so naturally big one) :) It can be done and she is now finding it far easier to keep the weight off...just through lifestyle change and the way she feels and thinks about food.
