Hi guys,

I guess this isn't Fiat related but your opinions should be useful.

My Mum has just got a massive pay increase (40%!!!) and she is now wanting to replace her R-reg 1.8 laguna with a cabriolet/sporty car but much prefer a nice soft top.

She has looked today at:

03 reg Megane cabriolet
03 Celica
03 MR2
and will look at a MX-5.

All around the 12k mark. Any (decent) opinions on these or any other suggestions would be most appriciative!

Regards
Paul

P.s Please don't do the normal car bashing because they don't have the Fiat word within them, Fiat don't really make something that fits into this criteria, do they? I want decent opinions and not "I hate toyota!" ;)!

all lose value very quick, tell her to keep her old car and use the money to keep you on the road while you are at uni;):)

LOL, you read my mind, i tried that but she said that she wants to drive something a bit nicer before she dies! She just became an AST "Advanced skills teacher" and wants a reward for her hard work.

TC: Well, I missed that off the list, it was the first she went to look at. Despite her friend at school owning one and having plenty of trouble with it and a teacher at my school down the road also having problems such as roof leaking, door not closing, engine trouble etc. It was the most obvious choice but she said that the dealer wasn't interested and the car felt really badly made in her opinion. I can't back this up, it was just her feeling and a few experiences.

I think she loves the MR2 now.

Cheers
Paul

If you give her the advice, will you get her old R-Reg Laguna [fully insured for her favourite son :) ]????

Fiat Ulysse 2.2JTD Eleganza, 53 plate, with options :D Angel Tuning [see ad that has now gone] tuned ;) Photos and a 'better' avatar still to be sorted - there is always tomorrow

lol, I wish! The insurance would be another £200 more than the £900 we have already paid plus i doubt she could afford it without something back for the Laguna - I do like the idea of having a Mum driving me around in a MR2. Really inpractical however!

I used to love looking on autotrader etc. for cars a few years back and we found our Scenic through my hours of looking (which was £1500 less than any other on the market at the time) but now it just kind of bores me, I'm even going off ebay *shock horror!*
