Do i buy an Xbox 360, Wii or a PS3?

I have money to buy either but not both and i would like opinons from everyone on which of the two i should buy, do not base the arguments against the PS3 on the cost because i am not really bothered.

The 360 has been out ages, you are guarenteed to find games that kick ass.
PS3 has been out for a few months, and theres practically sod all out for it.

PS3 and Xbox 360 are basically going to get the same games anyway, so may as well go the the one which has the most games right now (obviously 360)

If you want something new and fun, get the Wii. But as it stands, in order of "enjoyment factor" I'd say it goes:

1) Xbox 360
2) Wii
3) Playstation 3

Just sold my Xbox 360 on eBay for £210.00 It was the premium and only 2 -3 months old, Xbox live recorded 20 hours play total... So it was as good as new and a complete bargain!

Had Gears of War and PGR3.... Consoles are not for me sadly as I am abit of a PC Gamer but Gears just about kicked the biggest ASS I have ever seen! If you get a 360 let it be for that game alone!

*Wii has fun factor but the novelty wears dry quicker than my petrol tank!
*PS3, not much to say but good job Sony, great console with bags of potential. Sadly I have to say not worth the price tag as the Xbox 360 is only around 5% slower and chances of you ever seeing that difference is nothing... Plus 360 has more memory bandwidth (Bandwidth for life)...

Conclusion... Go for an Xbox 360 elite to slap Sony

I've added a poll. My preference would still be a PS2. The range and games and value for money being the key. The Wii is excellent, but the range of games is limited and is does wear on you after a while.

Is cost is not an issue I would say PS3. It's not selling well, but the range of games is sure to be huge and it is backwards compatible with PS2 games. It'll drop in price though, it has to...

Never played a PS3 properly so can only comment on the 360.
I think it's brilliant being a Nintendo man usually I tend to look for playability and originality in my games and although the Wii offers this on the biggest scale the Xbox seems to me to be the only regular console that comes any where near it.

Also Gears of War may be the most fun I have ever had online!

The 360 is in a pretty good position at the moment, some good deals around (I've seen Premiums for £190, or add another £100 and you get 4 games and another wireless pad) and a fairly good games line up if you like racers or shooters. Live Arcade is also a big bonus.

PS3 isn't well established in the UK, or indeed anywhere thanks to poor sales. But I'm pretty sure the failure rate is lower than the 360, and they are a bit shiny! Good games will no doubt be in the pipeline, GT5 alone would probably last me for an age and LittleBigPlanet is looking very good indeed.

As for the Wii it has a price advantage and is certainly a lot of fun multiplayer wise but I can't make my mind up. It needs a good few more genius titles to get going if you ask me, and third-party support for Nintendo is a bit thin on the ground.

Don't get a Wii as a serious games machine - the games are cack for single player stuff and it loses its appeal very fast. Got a Wii and a PS3 and the PS just kicks ass .... however, I got a PSP the other day - and think this is so much better than the PS3 ...

id go with the 360 myself., theres rumours that sony are having big problems making the ps3 backward compatable with the PS2 games and that only the most popular will be emulated to work on it., i think this only affects europian consoles because the japanese and american ones have a hardware solution for backward compatability but i think there was problems with that so they didnt include it in the europian models,., instead there using an emulator to play them.,

the 360 has a lot more games so id pick that over any of the other consoles., gears of war is great and all the clancy games are addictive., aswell as that, im not sure if its me but i find the new triggers on the ps3 controller are awkward., i found them very uncomfortable where as the 360 controller is well designed.,

i've been able to play all the ps2/ps1 games on my ps3 without any problems. thats only of the one's i've tryed, only problem is if you want to move your saves from ps1/2 memory card you need an adaptor as the ps3 uses it's hard drive and has no slot for them.

i think the problem had something to do with the sound not being in sync and games freezing if i remember correctly,. im not 100% on that though,.

Ok, forget the Wii from peoples comments it's novelty wears off quickly, difficult and good point everyone reminding most games will be out on both consoles!! So difficult, although i do think the PS3 looks better, but can this substitute the extra cost? Help people!!!
