Ok - here goes:

Datacentre were doing a test of their UPS system - it failed.

I don't know what more I can say, except I wanted to go to bed 2 hours ago, but now I'm so angry I just can't relax ... grrr

imagen your wardrobe stuffed full of batteries, we have 4 of them at work to support 50 or so servers, now try and figure out how many wardrobes you would need to support a datacentre with hundreds if not thousands of servers.....

easy peasy, just do a power consumption type calculation. and then add what, 20% capacity for startup?
