I won the bidding on this item,,,

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI....arch.dll?from=R40&satitle=+320097273929&fvi=1

,,,and recieved it 3 days later, from the moment I installed it, it would only play a select few cds, those it wouldn't play it would show CD ERROR 4. Thinking the head was dirty I waited a cuple of days till the weekend and bought a CD/DVD head cleaner, but it was no good, still the same error code.

I returned the unit and the seller agreed to send another unit as a replacement. Which arrived today, and is the same unit I returned, not just in looks but its the exact unit. And guess what, it still shows the same error codes CD ERROR 4.

I then sent him this message a few moments ago,,,

"It would appear that you have returned the CD changer that I sent back to you as faulty. I know this as I noted down the 4 digit security code and the unit is still tuned to the stations I selected.

If you claim that it is repaired, it is not as the 1st CD I loaded showed CD ERROR 4, this same CD I tried in my friends ca which has the same unit and it played fine, in fact his same unit had no trouble at all playing any of my CDs.

I shall be returning this unit to you and I will ask for a full refund, including postage for the 2nd return as this isn't cheap. £110

If you object to this I will contact EBay and open a dispute of being sold a faulty item listed as a fully working unit.

Garry James"

Do you think thats all I can do?

id say pretty much!

tbh he's really stupid for trying to send you your original faulty unit.

however,

it may be just a postage mistake, he may have sent the original by accident

let him reply!

:p

how you get um all in, where they go

pretty sure i see some of them head units up the yard today

You just slot them into the slot like a normal slot load CD player, then either by a tray mechanism int he back or by magic, they disappear. Then you just select them like a normal CD changer. Much better system than having a CD changer under the seat/in the boot etc.

Result. Called him up and he has agreed to a full refund and he did say he had put a new mechanism in it:rolleyes: .

:)

you also get one slot//multichangers for hifi seperates. well they've been around since the mid 90's.

works like a jukebox, all discs are in their own little plastic hard sleeve, then when called up, the actual LENSE moves down to the approriate slot, pulls the slot and disc with it, then plays inside its plastic hard case thing.

really simple, and you can literally have hundreds at a time!!!

I'll find a link...

or something like that. been around donkies, wouldn't bother thought, rather spend my hard earned cash on a beautifully hand machined bit of magnesium thats then shot peened and anodized (individually), in california. and thats just the cd tray.
Traded up from my marantz cd deck to a teac seperate transport/dac set. just traded up again to a transport/dac setup from counterpoint. its one of their prototypes that found its way onto the market when it was never produced.
tis beautiful, weighs a bomb, takes 1 disc at a tiem :)tssskk:) and makes sounds like god himself is speaking/singing/playing 80's electronica :yum:
