SLOW SLOW SLOW

SLOW SLOW SLOW

As you may have noticed, this site has started to crawl since some time last night.

It has been tracked down to a faulty router with our hosting company, which they are having trouble sorting.

Last support message was given at 8:30am this morning, so hopefully it will be sorted out soon.

Sorry about that!

I got logged out and code at bottom of source was:

Not sure if that's of any help whatsoever!

Being logged out is not something thats actually done by the "server". The forum places a cookie on your computer when you click the "remember me" box when first logging on, when this cookie expires or you click the logout button, only then do you become logged out.

Try clearing your cookie cache, restarting your browser and log in again. Caveat .. this will most likely log you out of every other forum/website your logged into that uses cookies as well.

Also check that the time and date on your PC is correct.

The date is correct and this has only started happening to at least 3-4 people on here within the past few days which surely can't be put down to coincidence....We sit on active threads screen and after n refreshes, it simply logs you out....it didn't happen before a few days ago as said above.

I'd rather not empty my cookie folder simply because i like to remain logged into as much as I can for ease of use.

btw sitting on the active topics pages doesn't really help server performance all that much, though you've given me an idea .. if enough of you are doing this you could easily be using 4000-5000 or more connections to the server (yes really that many) .. which will probably trigger IIS to refresh the App Pool.

I've just put fiatforum.com into its own AppPool without any connection limits, lets see if that makes a difference over the next hour or so.

i dont sit on active topics i go to active topics, then read a recent post maybe reply aswell, then click active topics again to see the rest, thats when it happens, if you are just sitting on active topics to test it may not happen, have a look at some posts then click active topics again see if it resets last visit time.

also just got this when i tried to see someones profile,
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server error '80004005'

Timeout expired

/forum/inc_header.asp, line 113

hope that might help

I've been trying a couple of things hence a few of the error messages recently as i've had to quickly stop/start the DB Server.

I'm having speed problems tonight, it keeps coming up with black boxes (no matter which browser I use) as others were last week. I have finally managed to post this on the old fiatcentral domain entry (cheers Paul). Is it just me?

Ben looks like hes changed the URL, that means you'll quite possible have to click the logout button and then login again to get your cookies right, you may also need to delete your cookies. Snitz does not like having it's URL changed much at all (especially if the admin cookie setting is set to forum).
