SLOW SLOW SLOW

SLOW SLOW SLOW

As you may have noticed, this site has started to crawl since some time last night.

It has been tracked down to a faulty router with our hosting company, which they are having trouble sorting.

Last support message was given at 8:30am this morning, so hopefully it will be sorted out soon.

Sorry about that!

It's not just FF having problems - it looks like an issue with .com domains again.

Yes, my pages time out, but I've just posted on the political debate thread and it's repeated about a million times???????????????????

FIAT Stilo Sport. Pretty Much Bog Standard Really. Rear Roof Spoiler,

Good news and bad.

Bad - i can't really do anything about it now.

Good - it gets moved onto a new server soon anyway.

Bad - it's going to cost more.

Good - Hopefully not much more, so donations should still cover it :)

TC,

I noticed a general slowness surfing to quite a few sites at lunchtime today (was using the 2Mb leased line at work) so I don't think it was a specific problem with the forum. I tend to notice the slow speeds more on .com sites probably due to the way they are routed (everything goes via the US even if it's hosted in the UK!)

The forum may be a little slow for the next 12-24 hours due to the first part of the server move having been completed. The database server is currently sitting in Texas and the Web server in Florida .. ain't technology great :)

Anyway once the DNS changes have propagated both will be on a nice new server in Texas.

Network problems unforunately... should have been resolved now

Hi guys, everything should be back to normal there was a router that was going belly up and causing a whole heap of trouble, it's been isolated and shouldn't happen again.

My appologies for the slowness unfortunately it was a little beyond my control, when hardware breaks theres not a lot you can do but fix it as quick as possible.

Ben I've sent you a link to the incident report.

Considering this site was supposed to be improving under it's new host, I have to say, it's crap, sorry Ben but it is, I've got 1mb connection and this site is like dial up speed! [xx(]

I would be onto them and seriously busting their asses! [:(!]
