Wink Funky page links

Just finished installing the latest mod which rewrites all the links to nice html files.

Why you ask? It should help in SEO, hopefully moving us up the ranks a bit and also looks a lot nicer (less techy )

I'm sure it won't go perfectly first time though, so if anyone notices anything strange now happening, please let me know so I can get it sorted ASAP!

Re: Funky page links

I've noticed that sometimes when you click a link that should go to http://www.fiatforum.com/ it takes you to http://www.fiatforum.com/?= which gives you a 404 not found error. But I just tried that link and it works. so maybe it's fixed?

Re: Funky page links

Sometimes the 'go to first new post' button doesn't work. This means I have to scroll all the way down the page to read it...totally unacceptable!!

Re: Funky page links

from time to time, when i click on links to posts off the main page (with forum summarys), its a multipage thread - then it'll take me to a way earlier post in the thread. not sure why it does that??

whats SEO btw ?

Will investigate

Re: Funky page links

Ok, slight change in the way new posts now works.

Every post you don't read is now "unread" until you read it, even if you log out and back in again... after 7 days, it is automatically marked as read...

Better / Worse?

Re: Funky page links

is that something that could be added to the user control panel to chance, a lot of the time - if i dont fancy reading a thread, then i wont click on it.. and then next time i visit its no longer marked as new... quite liked it doing that

Re: Funky page links

Yeah, the old method had issues with the new software though

However, once you have read everything you want, on the main page there is a link at the bottom "Mark Forums Read" - which clears all new posts
