Forum Tidy Up

In an effort to try and make everything look a lot neater, as well as reduce the main page size and stop people complaining that their "car is at the bottom" - have reshuffled the forums and grouped them all together.

The old "General" forum is now just the cars name, with the Tech and Styling now sub categories of the main one....

If there are loads of objections, I can change it back - but I think this might be a better solution what with the models starting to stack up....?

I agree - same with the Stilo - we need the split into 3 sections. Also, you would end up with a few pages of stickies...

I disagree... like I said on the previous page I don't think multiple sections per car are necessary.

There are no more posts in the 3 punto, stilo, cinq, bravo sections combined than in the one forum that is the leisure lounge. Threads never drop out of there too quickly, nobody complains about that so why should it be any different in the car sections.

Plus, again as I said before, almost everyone will check all 3 sections anyway it would just be easier if they were all in one place.

Depends on how you use the section, for example, if you were just looking for some styling ideas - you can just browse the styling forum, and so on.... also helps search speeds if you limit to a certain section, though i doubt many people do that anyway

I tend to use New Posts the majority of the time, then hit Stilo-->Tech and General sections in preference to Styling. I am not a fan of lumping them all together.

errmmm...excuse me for being rude but this poll looks very rigged, it went from being 19 againse and 8 for to 14 for and 4 again over night a few days back, now it seems to be getting changed alot..... do you not think the poll is useless if its being rigged?

read the whole thread, no one liked changes, so ben altered them, now have newer new changes, you got to look at them an vote again as poll is reset

Overall I preferred the old format. Looked neater, made more sense to me.

But I will go with the verdict of the poll

I like the new look of the forum, well done Ben.

When I clicked on the Cinquecento / Seicento link I expected to go to a page showing me all three cinq sections, not all the posts from the cinq/sei general section plus links to the tech & styling sections.

What about this page showing the links to each of the three cinq / sei general section, but also listed below them is all the stickys that have been created? But on the other hand it might not be clear to people where these are?

Hmm... that will require quite a bit of code changing, so probably not going to happen

Having a seperate page to the links of all three though surely is just a waste of a click? You can get to them all from the front page anyway..?
