Ok so hopefully you've now all given enough ratings to get everyone up to speed, so I have brought in phase two.

Now with all ratings given, you MUST supply the URL of the trade (be it a link to the thread, or the advert in classifieds) - this link is then checked to make sure one of the people in the trade actually posted it (so you can't just add any old thread for example).

Oh almost forgot, if the deal was a spin off of a main thread (ie one of you wasn't the deal starter) - click the white #NUMBER at the top of the POST (which takes you to a SHOWPOST.PHP?X page) and use this as the deal thread (y)

Should put some peoples mind at ease .... :p

I think thats what Uno and Dave were getting at - and some people dont want to list stuff in classifieds and there is too much too list, or parts are only for sale on request via PM or talking to the seller via some other method but still from being on the forum obviously :p

Although it would be good if people did list more in the classifieds
 
BB - Possibly, that retroactivly posting ads might not be such a bad idea....

But for now, I think best to leave it as it is. I don't mean people to post up ads of all their stuff, but maybe if there was a thread about something, someone might say "Oh i've that, do you want it?" - and this can then be linked in the trader reports.

Usual rule exists just for complete sales based things.
 
thats what classifieds is there for. posting retrospective ads will just clog up the classifieds with crap that noone can buy.

trader rating for classified only imo. seems daft to include PM sales as they arent offical, same with sales based on posts that lead to a sale. its not offical so it doesnt matter. you dont get feedback from dealing with someone on ebay via email and selling outside the auction.

classifieds is there to sell things. if people are that bothered about building a trader rating then they should use classifieds to sell there stuff. simple as that.
 
Why? This isn't ebay, why compare?

The trading rating is there to show how legitimate a seller is, if somebody has completed 10 sales through PM then it shows they are a legit seller according to previous history. It doen't matter the tiniest bit where those sales happened within FF, they still happened on here.

No PM slaes ratings are NOT allowed as there is no way to confirm they are accurate.

Ah no wait, I see what you mean - well yes, if you have something for sale it should be in the Classifieds, but if you didn't know you were going to sell it, or it was more of a spur of the moment thing (which got mentioned in a post) - then I think the current system works better (where you can link to that thread).

Remember, all outright ads in threads get removed anyway, so it won't be too much of a problem.

But no, you won't ever be able to rate on PM'd sales... sorry!
