Exclamation The (Half) End Of An Era...

Well, this is slightly sad to write - but there is good news attached too...

As you all know, Pete (aka Fixitagaintomorrow) has been undoubtably the most important member ever to join the forum. Back in the day of Snitz (when the mod team was small) - come my holiday times, the keys would be handed over and full control given to him.

He is as fair and as trustworthy a man as ever you will meet - and I think you will be hard pushed to find someone who doesn't agree with me there.

However, due to the massive success of the forum and the hundreds (well, thousand(s)) of posts made each day, along with a pressing work commitment, he feels he is unable (at the moment...) to continue with his role.

It is therefore with mixed emotions that I am handing his role over to Sammi (Sammiboo) who will step into his shoes, effective immediately. Sammi has worked extremely hard on many forum aspects over the last few years, recently being the one responsible for the great success that was Stanford Hall, along with Gaydon and the many more to come.

Pete however can't get away that easily, and has agreed (after we threatened to kill his cat) to stay on as a Cinq/Sei moderator - so he will be about

So what does this mean for you people - well, for everyone who knew the roles before, it's a straight swap. For anyone else, look at Sammi as my new "main man/woman " - if you have any problems with anything that you can't discuss with a moderator, Sammi and I are now your next port of call.

In regards to the recent "Who looks after the moderators" post, nothing will change in this respect (everything voted on, etc etc) and will stay as it always is - however, you do have a higher level to go if you wish.

Hopefully when things calm down, Pete will come back as a full on forumer (we will save his chair - for sure!), but for now - we wish him the best!

So please raise your glasses and give a standing ovation to the one, the only .... Fixitagaintomorrow

.... very nice ....

Now please stand again to toast in our new "head honcho" - Sammiboo

Didn't know you for long Pete but you have been the responsible adult when all us kids have been squabling! I will read your old posts and learn all I can about the Jedi way.

Well hello there Sammi! Good luck with the new responsibility. You've always been nice to me, so my respect you have already!

Re: The (Half) End Of An Era...

Just spotted this thread

Pete has been a big part of this forum, I used to PM him quite a bit when I first joined asking for his advice about various things and if i remember rightly he was the first person to stick up for me when steve and another member was giving me grief about my other Bravo saying i bought a dud

Pete pointed out it wasnt a dud just a FIAT

I dont think we will ever let Pete retire, the forum needs him and in someways i reckon Pete needs the forum too - cos we all keep him ...er... sane

He has always had my respect since day one, and as a moderator have gone with his word on various things.

I was quite taken aback when I was asked to take over his roll, I hope I can half as good a job that pete did

One last thing......

Please be gentle with me

As I said Back Stage, glad you’re staying on as a mod Pete. When are you going to bring back the old avatar . I thought you were going to mod Other Fiats though

Miss Boo – well done for taking up the challenge . I hope us mods don’t give you too much grief .

Round of applause for Pete and Sammy
