A full on photo gallery....

A full on photo gallery....

Going to put this up as a poll, basically, who would be interested in having a full bells and whistles photo gallery up on the site?

Each member can create galleries (sub galleries, sub sub etc.etc.) and upload photos of your car as and when you please, which would all be updated and stored centrally here on the FF server. No need to keep making posts with attachments.

Reason I ask you guys, is again its going to cost (likely to be about $100) so would really need to be worth it and be used to make it viable to go ahead.

Forum Software = $160 (one off)
Gallery Software = $130 (one off)
Chat Software = $250 (but i already paid for that ages ago)
Links Manager = $30 (one off)
vBArcade = $FREE

Loads of extras are free, its just the main ones which cost, but once you pay for them, thats it...

Then you got hosting, which prices can fluctuate depending on how much traffic we using... dont' worry, so far its all under control...

Whats basically happened, FF has moved from a GPL system (all free, everyone makes add ons for each other and fixes when they feel like) to a commercial system (ie we pay, but you get better quality service, bug fixes ASAP etc...)

And at the end of the day, I do think its worth it.... our traffic for example has halved since the install of vB (not users, just the data transferred... why? cause all the pages are half the size!!!)

It seems you get what you pay for :D

Right, yeah, it would be sections... say for example

1 - FIATS
- Bravo/Brava
etc etc - basically a gallery of good quality fiat photos

2 - EVENTS
- List of fiat forum / fiat based events

3 - Members Motors
- Everyone could then upload their photos into a gallery here.

4 - sammis sexy pic section

Might see if i can get a trial version of the software up and running to try it out, but its cool you can comment, search etc etc.. + all automated! (and you can on the fly watermark pictures too ;))

Ah yes, THAT collection ;)

I hope you don't make the prices TOO cheap, I want my cut as well, as previously negotiated :D
 
I think it would be an awesome idea!

This isn't a plug - but something similar to the gallery system at www.peugeot-gti.net would be brilliant (I'm still a member of them too thanks to my pre-Punto Pug 106)

You're able to create your own gallery,as well as view everybody elses. I don't know what software etc they use but it could be worthwile asking the web designers. It was easy to use too which is a bonus!
 
haha! ur desperate to mod it man!!!

why do u want it that much. surley ppl members of FF arent that much loose enough to send in dirty photos 2 u.
unleess i am completely wrong and thereis a lot of dirty ppl hehre.
