cos the underwriters think the boys with nice cars are "boy racers" woman always get better deals than men its just a sad fact sadly (n) :bang:

just wondering what type of things will increase insurance if declared, for example will angel eyes headlights increase it or will a bodykit increase the cost, i only ask this because they increase the cars market price if you are to sell with theese mods, anybody have a rough list of what increases it and what should we perhaps not declare to them ?

cheers

where would you start with that question:rolleyes:

The amount a mod increases a premium is down to each individual case.

And it's probably best to declare everything to be safe. If you have a claim and the actual car doesn't match the declared car (e.g. car has a bodykit but isn't declared on policy) then the insurance co would invalidate your insurance and your claim. This would leave you out of pocket at best, or in the dock and out of pocket at worst for driving without valid insurance.

each underwriter does differnet things and i know only one underwriter on our panel would rate on a modded car and you would have to refer it to them then just to check

aqnd to the other question there no real list just most things you do to your car will put it up cnt really say by how much

I have Fully Comp Insurance on my car with my Girlfriend as a named driver on the policy.

We both therefore have third party insurance on any other car that we drive.

My Girlfriend has her own car with third party insurance.

My question is - Does my Girlfriend need her own insurance as she is covered third party by my insurance?

Thanks for any help.

think thats an interesting one. you may find she has a problem with her own insurance if she didnt declare she is insured on another vehicle.

if you mean can she drive her own car 3rd party via being the named driver on your poilcy then no. the third party cover of your fully comp insurance only covers driving vehicles she doesnt own

Also, fully comp does not mean you have 3rd party driving any other car. Check the details carefully.

If you are def covered 3rd party on other cars, it is normally 3rd party cover on another car that is insured by someone else as well. To stop you insuring something like a basic uno fully comp, then driving around in uno turbo with 3rd party insurance.

Also, she would not be allowed to re-tax the car without insurance in her own name :)

not even that, it was one of my mates who taxed the car for me cos i was at work.

so there was main name on the v5, my dads on the insurance documents and then if they asked for any idea off chris - another different name.

seems just showing them a valid ins document that might cover the car will do :)
