I am soon to be getting my first car, I am looking at a 1.1 Seicento and I can't find insdurance less than 2 000 (1950 or so) ... is it because I havent lived in UK since birth, does it really make such a big difference ? ... my friend paid 1 700 for his 1.3 micra which is in a much higher insurance group than the cento.:bang::bang::cry::cry::confused::confused::confused:

Hi Petar

We offer a car insurance scheme for registered users on here so hopefully this will benefit you as well as your time on here!
(Starts at age 21).

With kind regards

If this is your first car that means you probably don't have much experience or any no claims bonus. Depending on how long you've been resident in the UK that too could add another layer of risk to the quotes you've been getting.

£2k for a young, inexperienced driver is probably about right in the market, so I suspect residency isn't the issue.

Hi,

As mentioned, £2000 really does sound about right for a new driver.

We do have some specialist markets for young drivers so by all means give us a try if you haven't done so already.

If you wanted to PM me your details I'd be happy to arrange for us to give you a call.

Kind regards
Dan.

yeah but the thing is that I have been quoted 2000 for a seicento which is in group 3 and that is with a black box ..... and I got 1 500 for a classic mini, without a black box

Honestly, insurance quotes seem to vary so much. It also depends how much you're prepared to shift onto your excess (mine's £500).

£2000 really doesn't sound that much. You'd be surprised.

Keep us posted on anything you find out - my insurance is due soon!

Just found out that the fiat panda (1.2, fwd) is in the lowest insurance group !!
Will have to check what price I can get on one of them

Its wrong, Dynamic is group 2 and Eleganza group 4 from memory. This is under the 1-20 ratings. On the new 1-50 they'll potentially be higher.

The Active is a group 1, and some of the later Dynamic Eco's might have been from memory, but I'm not 100% sure on that. If its a none Eco then it won't be though. Although insurance groups mean very little in the whole scheme of things from experience.
