I know it's been brought up many times but when I read the following article I thought it'd be good to refresh people's memories...

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/u...licy-over-jesus-christ-stickers-10016630.html

Whilst I think it's getting rather petty, there are certain stickers which may make a car far more desirable - sticking an abarth sticker on a non-arbarth vehicle, for example or on 'the garage', the bloke that bought a bmw believing it to be an M5 (?) because of the stickers.

I've seen a car locally where the whole back end is completely covered in crap stickers. Whilst the plate isn't covered, the amount of crap on there does seem to detract/divert the eyes.

I was listing to the discussion they had on Radio 2 about this today. As far as I'm concerned this shouldn't even be in the news/on the radio as there is nothing to discuss...
The woman has provided the incorrect details to the insurance company therefore her policy is invalid
Yes I understand that they are only stickers and it's a relatively small change but it's still a modification/change from standard spec

She will have been asked the question when the insurance policy was taken out regarding and modifications to the vehicle.. It'll also be in the small print somewhere

But the real problem is where do you draw the line? I have an air freshener in my car, does that count as a modification? What about my shiny tax disk holder or new car mats?

IMO these are all the same boat as adding a sticker to your car, and is a very grey area.

"The devout Christian paid £120 to adorn her Vauxhall Zafira with the religious stickers."

These weren't exactly a little bumper sticker let's be honest, they were clearly large graphics she'd paid a company to make and apply.

Does this compare to puting an Abarth sticker on your back bumper?

These days putting highly religious messages all over your car is much more likely to see someone put the windows in than a big pioneer or Sony logo across the back window

I asked if I needed to inform my insurance company if I changed my exhaust to a stainless one, purely for longevity purposes, they said they could only answer once it was fitted !!

Twas Dial Direct.co I will wait until It has gone and then replace it, like for like with a stainless one. I have never declared an exhaust change before, so I 'aint now ...said he stamping his eyebrows :)

I declared this little mod (12m pneumatic mast, 6 radios, 9 antennas)
To NFU Mutual and they said "no problem, but the radio kit isn't covered, just the base vehicle" no increase in premium. And yes I was covered for 3rd party if the mast fell over

I did subsequently have a accident, rear ended by a Calibra and had no trouble with the claim. Calibra was written off, Range rover had scratched paint on the NATO hitch, dent in rear wing and cracked tail light.
NFU always were good for weird stuff, they even insured my gas turbine engines.

Robert.

It was a bit of a RAYNET own goal, I always got the repeater post, miles away from anyone;)
They banned me from the local mobile foxhunt too, thought the Doppler DF was an unfair advantage

To bring back on topic Yes I will declare the FT8800E when I get around to fitting it in the Croma.
