Hi
I have just bought my first car a Fiat Punto Evo GP 2012.
I have been quoted £2200 for comprehensive insurance I am 17 by the way,
Does anyone know any tricks to try and get the cost down I have checked all of the price comparison websites and the cheapest one is compare the market.
Thanks
Adam

Going on your mother or fathers insurance will bring the cost down but at 17 years old, insurance companies just see you as a very high risk driver. No matter what car you get the insurance will just be as high.

I would of waited until 18 years old and got a brand new car on credit that comes with free insurance (I think vauxhall corsa do free insurance at the moment). In the long run it would of been cheaper with the free insurance but good luck anyway.

Hi and welcome,
Please feel free to give us a try if you like for insurance. If you wanted to Private Message me your details I'd be happy to arrange for one of my quotes team to give you a call back.
Regards,
Dan.

This can only be legitimately done though if it's their car and the OP only uses it occasionally, in the OP's case of it being his car, if they were to do this it's 'Fronting' and can lead to serious legal ramifications.

£2200 sounds like a much better offer compared to what I got when I was 17

If you haven't already, you could do a PassPlus driver course, this can reduce your insurance by up to 30% I do believe.
Swift cover also offers a further 10% if you have a Dash Cam fitted to your car. Might be worth you asking around if your current insurer can reduce the cost if you fitted one?

Hope this helps (y)

Hi Guys,

My name is Alex,23 years old,I've got my driving licence for 4y 6m (3 years in uk) NO NCB (as an id is good:)) ), I'm new on the forum. I know there are plenty of topics opened with young drivers that are asking tips, company's name's and all kind. probably most of you are sick of those youngsters:slayer::slayer: BUT:)) all of you have been there so if you can help me to I will :worship::worship:.

My Questions are about the IAM (Institute of Advanced Motorist)140 pounds or Pass Plus 160 pounds courses. Has anyone passed them and really got a cheaper insurances? Are they professional with types of learning?

I'm thinking of going for one of those courses:bang::bang: till next year when I plan to buy a car (specially when Tfl wants to raise the price's:mad::mad:).

I wanna get as cheap insurance as I can from next year even if that means to spend a little for a better price and more security on roads. But I don't wanna have a black box or Gps device to scan all my farts. I've been driving for 16 months back home every day and not even a scratch (pure luck:p:p)

Does anyone recommend the insurance company's that are on the forum(y)(y)? Which one is better:idea::idea:?

PS: Please accept my apologies sadler97 for taking over your topic and to moderators:D :devil:
